My client, a leading investment management firm, are seeking an experienced Finance Manager/Finance Business Partner to join their team. This role, reporting to the UK Business Finance Senior Manager, will support UK business channels, functions and the UK consolidation as required. The primary purpose of the role is to assist in the preparation of management information in the form of reports, presentations and analysis, which is then able to support effective decision making at senior management team and Operating Committee level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist in the preparation and review of management/Board reports and presentations for the UK business: ensure that data is timely and accurate; review for and address any anomalies.
  • Assist the proposition team in preparing pricing models, actively challenging assumptions for the business case.
  • To build robust business relationships with key stakeholders to develop a keen, commercial understanding of business requirements to thereby provide a pro-active service. 
  • To work closely with and build strong working relationships with the UK Business Finance team, India Business Finance team and the wider finance community.
  • To assist in the Strategy and Budget processes, providing robust and credible analysis, working to tight deadlines and challenging business case assumptions as required.
  • To prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis on a wide range of projects / initiatives as the business dictates.
  • To promote a continuous improvement ethic within the team and with key stakeholders.
  • To keep abreast of business change to ensure relevance and accuracy of reporting.

Experience & Qualifications Required:

Key Competencies:

  • Excellent communicator, both written and oral.
  • Background in understanding and interpreting financial information to provide a commercial, big-picture overview.
  • Ability to build relationships with all key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Able to prioritise, plan and organise effectively to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong commercial and excellent analytical skills.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/ACA/ACMA, or non-UK equivalent).
  • Experience of dealing directly with, and producing information for, senior decision makers.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills essential.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge of Hyperion financial systems and JDE.
  • An interest or knowledge of the investment management or wider financial services industry.
