The Workplace Investing Communications team supports the Workplace Investing [WI] channel, providing communication services to existing WI clients as well as new WI scheme implementations. This includes the delivery of scheme literature, educational materials, strategic communication campaigns as well as face-to-face communication at the workplace.
About the opportunity
The team leader of the Communications Consultant team covers three key responsibilities: managing a small portfolio of key Workplace Investing clients, support and drive the strategic development of our Comms Consulting offering and lead the team of Comms Consultants.
The key focus for the team is on employee communication aimed at increasing employee engagement with their workplace saving options. The team leader role requires an experienced individual with a Communications Consultant background. It requires the individual to be flexible and able to juggle a number of tasks.
The team leader will be responsible and should drive the successful engagement with our corporate clients and ensure that the Comms consultant team effectively engages with their assigned book of clients. This role is based in Kingswood and requires a high level of flexibility in terms of work hours and willingness to travel.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leader & Communication Consulting responsibilities
- Be the strategic contact for the BDs, RDs and other members of the WI Leadership team.
- Represent the team to senior management in PI, WI and wider.
- Support new business pitches & site visits.
- Lead, Inspire and Manage the team of Comms Consultants on a day-to-day basis.
- Drive forward the planning and implementation of effective employee engagement programmes.
- Provide guidance and support around the development of effective communication strategies for existing as well
- as new clients.
- Provide communication consultancy to a small portfolio of key clients (to ensure you remain in-touch with sponsors and members).
Strategy & planning
- Develop and implement the strategy, capabilities and operating model for the development of our Comms Consulting offering to take the proposition forward and create a competitive service that is better and different from competitors' offerings.
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to ensure support is given around campaign development, customer insight and online and email communication.
- Ensure that the Comms Consultant team is fully integrated into wider Fidelity offerings such as Global WI, Financial Wellness, SPS, Invest@Work, etc to share learnings and approach and maximise take up and impact/
Experience and Qualifications Required
- Broad experience in workplace communication consulting with a DC provider or consultancy / or similar related experience.
- Technical expertise in the DC and Workplace savings space will be key to the success of this position.
- Excellent industry knowledge, understanding the client's needs and challenges.
- Able to manage member communications projects, meeting targets in terms of day-to-day work-flows and new projects, using internal and external resources as necessary.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrable ability to build, develop & maintain good client relationships.
- The individual will need to be effective communicators with polished interpersonal skills, who can flex their style in line with the type of client they are handling.
- Able to present information competently, comfortably with gravitas - in front of corporate clients as well as their members/ employees.
- Proven track record of a focused approach to formulating and delivering successful communication campaigns within the DC and Workplace Savings space.
- A good understanding of client needs with the ability to develop effective communication plans and campaigns for the client.
- Be a role model for FIL values and behaviours in their approach with clients & colleagues.
- Team player with the ability to leverage of the wider FIL network.
