Sr. Global Risk Manager
Working with Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) & the other 2nd line teams, this role will initially support the UK subsidization effort by being the point of contact for financial and credit risk & programs associated with those risk categories.

Peripherally, this candidate would have a generalist view of other risk areas (Compliance, BSA/AML, & Model Risk) to call out issues that may require expertise and input from those areas.

This generalist would have sufficiently broad risk & execution experience to raise questions when appropriate, put pen to paper to move efforts forward and be responsible for the execution of Risk needs in UK subsidization project & other global efforts.

Qualifications

Generalist Risk Knowledge:

  • Ability to absorb regulator guidance, compare & contrast with current programs in place, other jurisdictions (US, EMEA, Canada, etc.) to offer assessment on gaps, & changes needed
  • Familiarity with credit review function (objective, sampling, reporting, metrics) to present requirements of a credit review function
  • Understand financial risk (market, liquidity, capital) sufficiently to be able to opine & provide guidance on oversight of financial risk for UK subsidization


Program Leadership :

This role will implement scalable solutions for UK subsidiary

  • Collaborate with 2nd line and business owners to implement regulatory changes and 2nd line programs

Governance and Oversight :

  • Drive the effective communication, implementation and compliance with all Corporate risk management policies and guidelines
  • Assist in the development and/or implementation of risk management programs and related risk management initiatives
  • Ensure risk management practices are consistent with regulatory expectations and industry best practices
  • Participate in various Risk Committees and other relevant corporate and/or business level risk oversight committees


Identification and Assessment :

  • Actively participate in the due diligence and risk assessment processes and provide direction/guidance
  • Develop an understanding of business strategy, critical success factors, risk profile and potential exposures
  • Provide support to business units in the completion of Risk and Control Self-Assessment
  • Utilize available risk management tools to proactively monitor the control environment
  • Support significant ERM programs or processes including the RCSA program and Risk Appetite Metrics
  • Provide reporting as needed ep abreast of new products, services, technologies and applications as well as their respective impact on the business unit's risk profile
  • Monitoring, Analysis, Reporting and Escalation :
    Assist the Program office by providing assessment of current programs & develop programs for what is needed

Leadership :

  • Provide ongoing guidance and direction in developing and implementing risk management plans and objectives
  • Serve as subject matter expert, providing ongoing direction and consultative advice to program office with respect to risk management policies, guidelines and best practices
  • Communicates and delivers on strategic goals
  • Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal; experience with presenting, facilitating, and gaining consensus is required
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to navigate effectively in global environment at all levels in the organization and across the company; demonstrate the ability to take ideas forward and to challenge others where appropriate
