Sr. Infrastructure Engineer

Provide and contribute to design analysis, policy, procedures, and support for SVB's container solution both on-premises and in the cloud. Assist other support staff with incidents and open problem records.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Deploy and maintain container solutions on-premises and in the cloud
  • Develop and document the individual tasks required to complete project delivery
  • Manage and resolve problem records escalated from the support teams and developers
  • Engage vendors to evaluate upcoming features and complete configuration reviews
  • Create procedures for new functionality and services
  • Work with development teams on solution design and documentation

  • At least 4 years' experience supporting Linux servers
  • Experience working with a virtualization platform and a container orchestration tool based on Kubernetes
  • Familiarity with enterprise management software like Ansible or Chef
  • Understanding of high-level concepts across network, storage, and database technologies
  • Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Familiarity with DevOps concepts
  • Well-practiced troubleshooting methodology
  • Self-starter with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift frequently
  • Ability to communicate design, installation, and support of a solution through documentation
  • Ability to translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical solution requirements
  • Strong verbal communication across audiences (such as fellow engineers, end users, and management
  • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
  • Ability to attain new technical skills and share knowledge with teammates
