The Senior Accounting Manager reports directly into the Group Controller.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and report preparation
  • Participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes
  • Responsible for hierarchy and scalability in chart of accounts and accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements and has ultimate authority over classification and booking of all transactions
  • Preparing cash flow forecasts and making recommendations for optimizing cash flow
  • Manages Payroll Specialist in their daily duties to ensure timely and accurate payroll processing and information. Supervision involves oversight, knowledge of State & Federal wage and hour regulations, payroll tax law and compliance.
  • Develop, roll out and ensure compliance with internal control policies
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance
  • Working closely with the Group Controller in managing the debt portfolio, share repurchases, dividends, mergers and acquisitions, and other capital allocation decisions and execution
  • Evaluating, developing and implementing process improvements to optimize operations
  • Reviewing bank account and bank services documentation to optimize bank structure and reduce bank fees
  • Leading process with insurance brokers in designing, negotiating, placing and managing all lines of insurance (medical, property, workers’ compensation, auto liability, general liability, cyber security, and executive lines of insurance)
  • Participating in property loss control and risk control activities including proposing solutions and/or resolutions to loss control recommendations
  • Participate in strategic financial projects including upgrades/phase-two implementation of ERP software
  • Developing department KPIs, provide quarterly reporting and analysis to management
  • Experience within a shared services environment is a plus

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Masters and CMA / CPA a plus
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Hands-on experience with financial and statistical software
  • Demonstrated leadership and process improvement skills and experience
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, senior level management, and outside advisors
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks/deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in both team and independent environments
