Job Summary

Successful candidate will serve as player-coach, senior most acquisitions professional on the platform, and head of acquisitions for the US equity real estate business. In addition to helping drive business as a producing acquisitions officer, will be responsible for reviewing, and revising as appropriate, structure for the US acquisition team, managing, and hiring as appropriate, equity acquisition teams across the US, creating objectives and key performance measures for acquisitions, developing tools for measurement, and driving performance. With a seat on the US management committee, Head of USREEA will be a driving force in the strategy of the business. She/he will work together with the heads of portfolio management, asset management, and product development to create an investment focus across the equity business and build a proprietary acquisition pipeline focused on alpha generation. Head of USREEA will be a face of the business in the industry, will be involved in capital raising across the USREE spectrum (core, core+, value add), and be instrumental in the creation of investment vehicles. Candidate should have exceptionally strong relationships throughout the real estate industry, a strong background in hands-on acquisitions across asset classes, and proven track record of leadership and building of culture. Charlotte is the preferred location, but willing to be flexible for the right candidate, particularly diverse candidates.

Primary Responsibilities

  • The individual will have demonstrated an ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment with an ability to think broadly about the business, incorporating continual improvement of processes and procedures with a goal of excellence while focusing on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop and lead the execution of asset strategies through financial review and approval, operational oversight and the implementation of best practices.
  • Own the vision for the Asset Management strategy and drive the roadmap for the team. Lead the development and implementation of long-term and short-term goals for the department while putting resources in place to support the mission.
  • Monitoring asset financial performance and providing key diagnosis and strategic recommendations on areas of challenge and opportunity.
  • Oversee property management/operations in the preparation of budgets. Review monthly property management reports to identify, follow-up with, and resolve financial and operational issues.
  • Collaborate with acquisition and development in providing oversight/direction on due diligence activities helping to successfully integrate new acquisition/development transactions into the portfolio. Support for these initiatives includes financial & market analysis, forecasting, positioning and Hold/Sell recommendations.


  • 10+ years of progressive responsibility and experience in an Asset Management or Senior Operations function of Real Estate Equity.
  • Exceptional financial/analytical skills with the ability to teach, articulate and communicate to variety of audiences inside, as well as, outside of the organization.
  • Working knowledge of Real Estate Investments, Multifamily Property Management, and Asset Underwriting.
  • Understanding of basic risk management approaches helpful.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with Senior Management and internal business partners.
  • A positive attitude, strong work ethic with a player-coach approach and a desire to work collaboratively across the organization.
  • Able and willing to travel when needed.
