We are currently seeking an experienced Investment Operations Manager to lead middle-office functions within the investment operations team of a growing investment advisory firm, managing a team that provides exceptional trade settlements, client relationship support, reconciliation and operational expertise.

We are currently seeking an experienced Investment Operations Manager to lead middle-office functions within the investment operations team of a growing investment advisory firm, managing a team that provides exceptional trade settlements, client relationship support, reconciliation and operational expertise.

This position will report to the Investment Operations Vice President.

What You Will Do:

  • Manage a team of 4 located in our Los Angeles and Newport Beach offices focused on post-trade settlement and trade break resolution, securities processing, corporate actions administration, pricing, securities data management and proxy administration.
  • Work closely with securities operations, relationship managers, portfolio managers, and custodians to ensure a seamless and efficient client experience.
  • Implement and oversee policies and procedures.
  • Manage relationships with third-party providers, ensuring quality and performance standards are met and holding them accountable to established service-level agreements. Assist with the evaluation and selection of third-party providers. Oversee transitions to the end-state infrastructure of outsourced providers.
  • Bring significant understanding of the broader industry environment and client account trends to contribute to the refinement or redevelopment of processes, protocols, and/or technologies for an improved client experience.
  • Be responsible for the effective leadership and development of team members. Recruit, direct, motivate, and develop staff and professionals, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth, and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects on an as needed basis.

What You Will Need:

  • Minimum of 10 years of investment operations experience in equities, fixed income securities, bank loans FX; at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading projects, mentoring, and/or leading and coordinating the work of peers.
  • Must have attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
  • Must have integrity and a strong work ethic; must be dedicated and personable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Superior problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Works well independently, while also being collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Flexibility to change with business needs and demands.
  • Computer proficiency: Geneva, Charles River, OMGEO CTM, OASYS, TradeSuite, ALERT for SSIs, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and/or equivalent professional experience.
