POSITION DESCRIPTION
After more than four decades of a founder-led business, PIMCO has weathered significant change over the past 24+ months. With a new CEO, Emmanuel Roman, the firm is mapping a path forward that balances continued dominance in fixed income, with growth in new investment solutions, markets and regions. With that focus, we are seeking a newly created role of Head of Digital Marketing to join our team and report into PIMCO's Global Head of Marketing. This is a unique opportunity to define the digital marketing strategy at one of the top investment management firms in the world. With an emphasis on accountability, efficiency, effectiveness and innovative campaigns across touchpoints (including email, search, social, SEO and traditional digital platforms), this is a critical role for the firm's senior leadership team and is essential for the success of the global marketing function.

  • With widespread support from senior leadership, the individual will help architect and redefine digital marketing while enhancing marketplace perceptions and attitudes toward the firm.
  • The Head of Digital Marketing will partner with firm leadership and Business Heads to create and implement a digital marketing plan that aligns with the firm's overall business strategy.
  • The role includes ideation of a cohesive digital marketing strategy including the design and development of digital marketing programs that support PIMCO's business objectives.
  • This role requires strong technical marketing skills and familiarity with digital trends driving industry innovation.
  • The ideal candidate will have the passion and demeanor to affect organizational change and creative digital marketing solutions

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and execute the global digital marketing strategy.
  • Develop and manage assets, partnerships and marketing strategies across all of PIMCO's digital properties.
  • Evolve and enhance the client experience across branded content platforms and other digital assets.
  • Maximize digital marketing metrics.
  • Develop relationships with key stakeholders including global marketing, technology, client-facing teams and agency partners serving as a digital marketing evangelist and subject matter expert.
  • Leverage digital insights to help shape marketing positioning and messaging for product campaigns and broader client engagement platforms.
  • Monitor the competitive landscape within the financial services and other key industries and share learnings with the broader global marketing team
  • Partner with regional teams to evolve strategy and improve the firm's global digital ecosystem.
  • Hire critical digital marketing roles to build the global team.
  • Important part of the role will include organizational education around digital marketing and related marketing programs.

Position Requirements

  • MBA in Marketing or related field required; Educational pedigree demonstrating strong academic credentials.
  • 10 years + in Digital Marketing role - ideally a combination of agency and / or in - house experience.
  • Experience working with global teams in different time zones.
  • Knowledge of / experience in Financial Services industry is strongly preferred but not required.
  • Proven experience delivering large-scale, multi-year change in a complex environment.
  • Extensive experience in developing and executing global digital marketing plans and strategies, internally and externally.
  • Strong leader who can set strategic direction, manage large teams and inspire strong business performance.
  • Strong relationships with digital partners, agencies and industry peers.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with proven ability to persuade and sell strategic recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience handling digital marketing data & analytics and quantitative analysis to measure and optimize digital spend.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivery, results orientation and bias for action.
  • Ability to execute in the short-term while simultaneously developing longer-term strategy.
  • Exceptional work ethic and ability to succeed in high intensity environment required.
