The Credit Solutions group manages lending/credit for awide range of credit relationships. Leads the due diligence process and deal structuring process.  Partners with the Relationship ManagementTeam for the delivery and negotiation of credit solutions.  Owns the underwriting, approval and closingprocess.  Responsible for proactiveportfolio management, including maintaining credit quality and profitabilitytargets.  Remains abreast of market,sector and competitive trends.  Engagesand builds relationships with key client stakeholders to remain well-informed,and able to respond to changing circumstances while appropriately balancingclient and SVB needs.  Develops anddelivers insights and points of view on loan types and credit/performancetrends in sectors/sub-sectors. 

The Credit Solutions MD is accountable for all structuring,underwriting, closing and portfolio management for their teams assignedportfolio / market / sector.  Manages (orindirectly coaches) a team of Directors, Vice Presidents and Associatesresponsible for managing all aspects of lending/credit for a wide range ofclient relationships.  Responsible forallocating the right resources to each borrower within the portfolio as well asto each opportunity in the pipeline. Serves as an ambassador of SVB Tech Banking as appropriate.  Provides guidance and oversight for theportfolio and pipeline.  Actively leadsthe teams efforts in structuring, underwriting and closing of new business orin addressing borrowers within the portfolio for the right opportunities /situations. Recruits and interviews staff. Makes hiring recommendations. Setsgoals and manages workload of the team. Responsible for developing skills and expertise of team, including thedevelopment and retention of top talent for SVB.  Leads development and delivery of insights onloan types and credit/performance trends in sectors/sub-sectors.  Engages actively with partners inRelationship Banking, Credit Administration and others to ensure alignment ofapproach, alignment on credit appetite, and innovation of solutions. Fostersseamless working relationships across vertical and horizontal teams.

  • Overseesthe structuring, underwriting closing of credit solutions for team's assignedsector / market / portfolio.  Thisincludes allocation of the right resources and providing expert guidance acrossthe business as well as direct engagement as appropriate in opportunities.

  • Overseesportfolio management for team's assigned portfolio / market / sector.  This includes allocation of resources,maintaining credit quality and profitability targets, direct engagement insituations including serving as an ambassador of SVB Tech Banking asappropriate. 

  • Managesa team of VP's and Associates, providing oversight and guidance, managingworkload for the team, driving skills and career development for individuals,ensuring the development and retention of top talent, and delivering onscalability initiatives. 

  • Leadership and expertise.  Remains abreast of market, sector and competitivetrends, developing and delivering insights and points of view on loan types andcredit / performance trends as well as opportunities to innovate on oursolutions.  Builds and maintains strongalignment amongst Relationship Management, Credit Administration, and CreditSolutions for approaches to credit within stages and sectors.  Fosters strong relationships across entirehorizontal team to optimize outcomes and scalability. 

  • Bachelorsdegree or equivalent related experience

  • 10 ormore years of related experience

  • Highlyskilled at structuring, negotiating, closing and managing the most complexfinancing solutions to meet client needs

  • Skilledat proactively managing large and complex portfolio of borrowing relationships

  • Capableat ensuring resources are properly deployed for optimal outcomes in bothpipeline and portfolio

  • Ableto engage as SME and trusted partner / expert with key stakeholders (internallyand externally)

  • Skilled at aligning cross-functional teams todeliver for the client while maintaining strong, collaborative relationshipswith one another
