    Responsibilities


    • Implements Environmental and Engineering Risk Policy for a wide range of business activities, including both real estate and non-real estate financial transactions
    • Serves as backup to the Chief Environmental and Engineering Risk Officer during absences
    • This position is intended to be remote, supporting CIT activities among all CIT office locations via phone and internet

    Provides environmental and engineering risk management activities including, but not limited to:

    • Supports business teams with selection of consultants, scoping due diligence activities, and coordinating consultant activities
    • Provides environmental and engineering risk reviews for transactions, including identifying areas of risk and proposing mitigants to address those risks
    • Conducts environmental and engineering risk reviews to support workout activities on nonperforming or defaulted loans, leases, and other transactions
    • Maintains documentation and tracking to confirm compliance with environmental risk policy and to support the overall credit risk process
    • Supports periodic training, policy update, and consultant review activities
    • Balances multiple projects, priorities and deadlines among business teams

    Qualifications

    • Degree in environmental or other science or engineering area
    • 10 or more years of experience in technical environmental issues and environmental risk management
    • Familiarity with property condition assessment and seismic risk assessment methodology and practice
    • Effective communication skills, including the ability to work remotely with teams throughout the Americas
    • Additional educational credentials or experience in business, finance, or economics is a plus
