Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Operational Cloud Services, the Infrastructure Solutions Architect is part of a cross-functional global team responsible for Franklin Templeton Investments' (FTI) platform and hosting environment. Seeking a self-driven infrastructure solutions architect who is responsible for strategic leadership, oversight and implementation of solutions and collateral developed by the Cloud & Platform Engineering Team. Working in a team environment, the infrastructure solutions architect will be responsible for providing technology consulting to internal business clients and internal project teams.

As a trusted advisor, the Architect collaborates with vendors and internal teams to define and implement platform, servers and storage infrastructure Journey Maps, technology adoption plans, and long term strategy. The highly motivated individual will maintain knowledge of leading edge technologies and industry/market domain knowledge to drive the highest level of client satisfaction. This position plays a critical role in driving innovation and change for Franklin Templeton Investments.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Establishes vision, strategy, and journey maps that align with business priorities for Franklin Templeton Investments global platform and hosting infrastructure
  • Research new technology advancements and conduct evaluations focused on optimizing and improving platform and hosting configuration, performance, capacity, availability and operational reliability.
  • Partners with Technology Product and Service owners to define and maintain technology standards and lifecycles and to establish and evolve Service and Technology Journey Maps
  • Technology and business enablement advocate to advise the best practice methods in how to utilize IT to drive competitive advantage.
  • Provide expert guidance to clients, driving solution architecture, and ensuring solution strategy is optimally aligned with business strategy.
  • Create and implement a platform and hosting solution roadmap and select the right infrastructure and technology platform or product based on in-depth knowledge of technologies and/or alliance product landscape.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Experienced designing, developing, and testing complex solutions to support distributed, scalable and highly available applications to support business operations and transformation of IT.
  • Strong experience with platform, cloud and hosting infrastructure automation, programming language, orchestration and brokerage services.
  • Strong understanding of Continuous Integration and Continuous Deliver pipeline is a big plus
  • Ability to spot business challenges and develop technical solutions to solve those challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with users, management, technical and non-technical teams
  • 8+ years' experience in a highly complex, dynamic environment with leadership responsibilities; technology related project management experience
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise influencing to business decision-makers by reinforcing the value of cloud solutions
Education, Experience & Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education, certification, and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience of systems integration/administration within an agile organizations implementing complex IT solutions
  • 6+ years of customer interaction in a technical, technical sales, or technical leadership role.
  • Financial Services industry experience a plus.
