Summer Intern, SDCBA Intern (Advice, Litigation, Regulatory)

Interns will be integrated into the Advice, Litigation, and Regulatory team and be key members that will assist in the completion of Legal research for the Advice team. In addition, interns will assist in other assignments throughout the internship period.

Position Overview

Responsibilities

  • Assist SVP Advice attorneys with legal research in the areas of securities law and compliance.
  • Draft research memos to be presented to management on a variety of securities topics.
  • Assist in other projects for the department head and chief of staff.

Other Duties/Skill Requirements

  • Law School Student who will have completed their first year.
  • Strictly adhere to ethical rules, including those concerning privileged and confidential communications.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Required Coursework: Legal Research & Writing, Contracts, Corporations. Experience or coursework in Securities Regulation, rules and regulations of self-regulatory organizations a plus.
  • Law Review, Judicial Extern/Internships, TA positions a plus.
  • Strong research, writing and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to discuss complex fact patterns in detail.
  • Adaptability and willingness to take on a variety of new tasks in a fast-paced environment, or change the priority of current tasks as needed.
