The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection (AIMS) Group is responsible for identifying, diligencing and partnering with leading third-party investment managers. The group provides investors with investment and advisory solutions across leading hedge fund managers, private equity funds, secondaries, GP stakes, real estate managers, public equity and fixed income strategies.

With over 350 professionals across 11 offices globally, the AIMS Group helps institutional and individual investors with their program design, manager diligence, portfolio construction and risk management.  The investment solutions in AIMS have a long history and our programs have seeded and partnered with many of the world's most prominent alternative investment managers.

Today, AIMS oversees over $275 billion across portfolios of both customized and commingled fund solutions as one of the world's broadest, deepest and longest-standing open architecture programs. We manage globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services. Imprint is the ESG and impact investment group in AIMS with a mandate to build and manage client portfolios that generate market rate returns and tangible environmental and/or social impact. AIMS Imprint invests across public and private markets through third party managers and co-investments alongside managers.

The investment strategy spans asset classes including private equity, real assets, private credit, public equity, fixed income and hedge funds. Imprint additionally specializes in nine private market investment themes including Clean Energy, Sustainable Transport, Education, Health, Financial Inclusion, Food & Agriculture, Waste & Materials, Ecosystem Services and Communities Imprint was founded in 2008 and acquired by Goldman Sachs in 2015, as part of the firms commitment to ESG and impact investing. The groups leadership is based in San Francisco but the team operates out of San Francisco, New York and London offices.



  • Lead, as part of a team of dedicated impact investors, sourcing and due diligence on separately managed accounts, co-investment opportunities, primary fund commitments, and secondary private equity investment opportunities within real assets (primarily forestry and agriculture), including a large amount of activity in emerging markets.
  • Drive investment view on carbon impact and measurement across asset classes with an emphasis on real assets
  • Lead research on investment themes and assets across various stages, sectors, and geographies
  • Present investment opportunities to investment committees and clients
  • Oversee  the execution of fund commitments / investments, including working closely with internal parties (e.g., internal counsel, compliance, cash management) as well as external (e.g., private equity managers, external counsel, and clients)
  • Monitor and report on the financial and impact performance and risk profile of existing portfolio investments, liaising with managers as appropriate
  • Engage directly with clients throughout the process (ex. Presenting pipeline, presenting to external client investment committees, presenting portfolio construction, etc.)

  Basic Qualifications

  • Demonstrated passion for ESG and impact investing broadly and climate change and real assets nature-based solutions specifically
  • 5+ years of experience structuring, executing, and monitoring investments, with experience in real assets investments specifically as either direct investments or co-investments
  • Demonstrated expertise in climate change related investments and knowledge of carbon accounting and reporting
  • Strong presentation and communication skills enabling the candidate to make robust written and oral recommendations to internal and external Investment Committees and interact effectively with a number of stakeholders, including clients
  • Ability to work well and oversee team members in a fast-paced team environment, including with colleagues based in different regional offices
  • Aptitude to manage multiple tasks by demonstrating project planning, organization, and time management skills.
