What is the Corporate Tax group responsible for?
  • Franklin’s Corporate Tax group is responsible for all tax aspects pertaining to the Company. We are a group of tax nerds who love to talk about federal income taxes, international taxes, state and local taxes. And nothing gets us more excited than the recent tax reforms and the ever evolving tax law changes globally. While we might talk and practice tax a lot, we are also a group of normal folks who enjoy having a good work life balance and company of our colleagues.

What is the Tax Manager responsible for?
  • As a Corporate Tax Manager, we are sure you know what you are doing. But in case you need any support, you will have the direct support of our very talented senior tax manager. You can expect to work with a global team of tax, accounting and finance team members. And because you like learning and training, you will assist in managing and training a tax team that is based outside of the USA.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of a Tax Manager?

  • Prepare/Review 10K and 10Q tax footnotes and disclosures
  • Maintain and review inventory of book and tax timing differences
  • Support external audits and audits of subsidiary financials
  • Prepare/Review annual provision-to-return adjustments
  • Review federal and state income tax returns, extensions, and estimated payment calculations
  • Manage SOX 404 compliance requirements and documentation
  • Work with various contacts within Finance on special tax projects (e.g. evaluating tax impact following changes in accounting standards)
  • Provide mentorship and training to staff pool

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • 4-5 years of corporate tax experience
  • Big four experience preferred
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and application of ASC 740, including FIN 48
  • Analytical and research skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong initiative, motivated to learn
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance (or equivalent)
  • CPA or MST preferred
