About the Role:

The Sr. Product Designer represents SVBs unrelenting commitment to pushing the boundaries of our UX capabilities through a mastery of user-centered design. This role is responsible for driving a significant aspect of our digital transformation strategy.  The ideal candidate is:

  • A creative thinker who is deeply passionate about design, product, and the end-to-end human experience

  • Able to break down complex problems and provide human-centric solutions through excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Able to work independently, quickly and reliably in a fast-paced, creative environment with a keen attention to detail

  • Able to understand the customer journey and empathize with SVB users

Once Here, You Will:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding of SVBs existing UX platforms to deliver world-class design solutions, with a focus on the user journey and user needs, through Design Thinking and Lean UX methods

  • Work within an agile environment to create design assets

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Visual UI Designers and cross functional stakeholders to understand business objectives, needs, and constraints while creating designs that provide creative, thoughtful solutions

  • Create high quality UX deliverables based on user goals and priorities, including annotated wireframes, flow diagrams, storyboards, mockups, high-fidelity prototypes and production ready final assets

  • Provide input to UI/UX style guides to support core brand look and feel and help ensure designs stay on-brand and on-trend

  • Provide insights to the product development team and document user goals, needs, motivations and pain points through user personas, use cases, and experience maps

  • Drive user research goals, including drafting research plans, conducting interviews, writing research questionnaires, producing usability tests and compiling research results to synthesize inputs into solutions

  • Contribute to understanding the user journey, discovering user needs, and leveraging user research insights to make user experience recommendations

  • Communicate complex design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences at varying levels of the organization with minimal conflict and complications between collaborative and cross-functional personnel

What Youll Bring:
  • 5 plus years of design experience and a strong portfolio of work exemplifying a deep understanding of UI/UX lifecycle to define user experiences, visual and interaction design through human-centered design solutions (flows, prototypes, and wireframes)
  • A Bachelors Degree in the study of design including one of the following: Design, Information Architecture, HCI, or equivalent project/portfolio experience (preferred)
  • A strong knowledge of Sketch, InVision, Adobe Creative Suite, or other tools for generating low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes
  • The ability to participate in various stages of the product lifecycle and effectively deliver in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Experience working in and an understanding of an Agile development environment (preferred)
  • Experience in banking services supporting the innovation economy (preferred)
