Compute Product Manager, Technology
The Technology team at Bridgewater builds and engineers systems and software products to understand the world. These systems synthesize and industrialize our global understanding into a hive mind of macroeconomic knowledge which enables us to educate and collaborate with the world's most influential central banks and policy makers and carefully and strategically manage the world's most important capital. Our product managers and technologists build highly available, performing, and secure cloud platforms and products that support and scale our investing operations. Position Overview
As our Compute Product Manager you will own the compute technology and products that enables our investors to answer questions about the global economy end-to-end. Our investors and the financial modeling platform they use have a variety of computational workflows that span from backtesting to point-in-time analysis to responsive web applications and more. Supporting and advancing these workflows requires balancing many tradeoffs. Building an easy to use platform that enable our users to run massive and compute intensive simulations in parallel, quickly, securely, and while keeping cloud spend in mind. You own this challenge end-to-end. What You Will Do
You will need to partner with our investors to understand the nature of our business and build and deliver solutions together with a world class tech team. As you will work together with our investors, architects, world class tech leads and engineers as well as 3 rd party vendors you will need strong communication skills and be comfortable in designing appropriate cross team collaboration and stakeholder management approaches. This role also requires a combination of strategic thinking, business problem solving, and translating user needs into a vision while being able to break it down into clear deliverables that you can execute on together with your tech team and 3 rd parties through time. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results with material business impact at scale, while at the same time being able to work through ambiguity and deliver on new cutting-edge problems never seen before.
You will get to work on exiting topics and areas including:
- Partner with our users, architects, and engineering teams and 3 rd part to understand their goals, needs, challenges and working habits.
- Build the product vision and roadmap for our investment compute ecosystem, solve different use cases, and balance opposing goals such as cost and speed, and then execute against that roadmap.
- Design and document solutions that drive business value (functional specifications, project plans, etc).
- Proactively "visualize ahead" of the engineering curve to understand what emerging practices and tools may do for Bridgewater.
Bridgewater Associates Company Overview
- A degree in Computer Science, or related technical field
- Demonstrable experience of technical product management
- First class verbal and written communication skills, along with logical empathy
- Deep Technical awareness in distributed compute platforms (we're open to specifics, but you must have passion).
