Reporting to the Head of Finance you will be manage the Tax Team (5) and lead the Corporate Tax Department. Your focus will be to oversee the US Income Tax compliance and reporting function, whilst devising tax planning and modelling strategies and managing tax audits/controversy.

The Tax Director will actively participate in all tax issues impacting the business including M&A, contract negotiations, regulatory matters, strategic tax planning issues including hybrid financial instruments and hybrid entities.

You will manage internal and external tax relationships including auditors, advisors and authorities.

You will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of Accounting for Income Taxes
  • Oversee the U.S. tax compliance function - Manage information for the preparation of all required tax returns
  • Manage information for the compilation of annual transfer pricing documentation
  • Manage information flow for all direct and indirect tax audits and quantify exposures of Planning and Strategy
  • Identify tax issues and trends that may impact business activities and proactively work to reduce company risk, compliance
  • Tax planning for M&A activity
  • Support corporate growth initiatives and provide strategic tax analysis and recommendations as it relates to tax issues impacting the business
  • Effectively communicate tax positions and strategies to company executives
  • Work with treasury on tax efficient financing structures and development of resources
  • Provide input related to tax for long term planning and acquisition modelling scenarios
  • Research and develop tax-saving strategies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA/ CA)
  • 10+ years of Tax experience leading a team
  • Industry exposure from a regulated industry - Utilities, Oil & Gas, Energy sector highly desirable
  • Strong strategic thinker, growth-orientation and a drive for continuous learning
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective oral and written communication skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Prior experience with M&A related tax structuring
  • Experience working for a publicly traded company, and within a regulated utility
  • Experience leading/managing through organizational growth phases
  • Strong supervisory skills - able to lead and mentor effectively
  • Team player and adaptable to change
