Job Description:

The SVP, Marketing Innovation will be responsible for leveraging insights and innovation to optimize and evolve Citi Cards' Existing Customer Marketing (ECM) strategy.  This role will be part of a newly established team focused on defining and executing on a new vision to bring a more holistic, efficient, and creative approach to the marketing efforts across all digital and offline channels. The individual will be responsible for delivering strategic insights, business analysis and strategy development to support a holistic Customer Relationship Management platform.  Specific responsibilities include:
  • Leveraging trends and emerging technologies to identify, develop and partner with 3rd parties on new marketing capabilities
  • Building out a test kitchen to experiment with new solutions based on the customer and business needs
  • Developing a pipeline of new, innovative marketing offers and treatments for testing
  • Liaising with enterprise Customer Relationship Marketing ("CRM") efforts to represent the Customer Engagement & Innovation (CEI) organization's needs while pursuing and implementing new marketing capabilities that leverage emerging technology and improve marketing effectiveness
  • Partnering with Customer Relationship Marketing ("CRM"), Marketing Information Management (MIM), Program and Channel Managers to identify opportunities and develop and test new processes aiming to improve time to market by reducing campaigns lead time
  • Challenging status quo, exploring new channels, dynamics, processes to drive the evolution of how we engage with our customers
  • Identifying market trends and be an advocate for innovation across ECM
  • Conducting customer/competitive research to identify and capitalize on new strategic opportunities           


Qualifications

  • Analytical and conceptual thinker with ability to operate in "white space" with strong strategic thinking and execution abilities
  • Customer-centric with ability to balance both customer benefits and business financials to identify win-win for customers and Citi
  • Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with the ability to influence the development and execution of key strategies/initiatives
  • Proven communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to present to varied and large audiences
  • Capable of navigating in dynamic and complex organization environments
  • Comfortable operating in a highly matrixed, complex arena
  • Self-aware with ability to adapt to various situations
  • BA required; MBA preferred
  • Strong customer focus and past achievement in applying a customer mindset to shape solutions and approach to realize marketplace potential and meet financial goals
  • Proven strategic creative marketer with a strong results orientation
  • Previous experience in marketing, innovation and/or partnerships a plus
