What is Franklin Templeton Technologies (FTT) responsible for?

​Franklin Templeton Technologies (FTT) manages the firm's Information Technology including software, applications, databases, hardware, network, and infrastructure. FTT endeavors to maintain enduring partnerships, provide quality technology services and solutions, and enable new capabilities which scale to meet the current and future needs of the organization. FTT is composed of more than 1,200 Franklin Templeton employees located in 21 offices and 13 countries worldwide, and represents 6% of Franklin Resources, Inc. annual operating expense. Strategic projects have a projected cost of $300,000 or more over the life of the project; 20-25% of the technology budget is for strategic technology initiatives and projects.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of an Infrastructure Services Project Manager?

The Infrastructure Services Project Manager provides planning, acquisition and implementation of the company's internal client-facing enterprise-wide new technology, as well as refreshes for existing systems. S/he is responsible for driving large-scale projects from a schedule, budget and metrics perspective utilizing key performance indicators to help determine success of the projects.

  • Determines the project approach, staffing, responsibilities, and schedule
  • Sets project objectives; develop and execute implementation, change, and transition plans
  • Monitors projects from initiation through delivery and monitor for continuous improvement
  • Manage relationships with vendor(s), Franklin Templeton Technologies "FTT", and business; act as liaison between vendor(s), FTT, and business
  • Administratively closes out projects, conduction post-implementation review and implementation improvement opportunities.
  • Trains, develops, coaches, and mentors project team members
  • Oversees the development of solutions to a variety of business issues and ensures the solutions are consistent with organizational objectives

What ideal qualifications would help someone be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years cross-functional, cross-disciplinary project management and business analysis experience
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMI, PMP) desirable; quality management experience (e.g., Six Sigma, Juran, Deming) preferred
  • Experience with process improvement, executing strategic business plans, managing organization change and communication, supervisory experience, managing organization change and communication, consulting and/or multi-discipline experience preferred
  • Other domain-specific knowledge and abilities to be determined by a Project Manager's division
  • Proficiency using Microsoft products including MS Project, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
  • Basic knowledge of FTI products, systems, functions (and Business Units), marketing, and/or service policies and procedures is preferred but not required
