Responsibilities

Support the commercial appraisal and environmental risk functions by performing critical processes such as ordering valuation and environmental reports from approved vendors, clarifying scope of work for those ordered reports, and delivering completed work to internal customers through the existing CIT RIMS platform. Role will include elimination of duplicate processes/platforms as needed as well as migration to unified processes due to corporate acquisitions. Areas of support include RIMS software management, department processes and procedures, RIMS software configuration and user training, and reporting on third party vendor scoring and loan to value analysis. • Pro-actively supports Commercial Real Estate Review Appraiser, Environmental Risk Specialist, Environmental Risk Manager, and the Real Estate Appraisal Department Manager in administering exceptional real estate services for the Bank. Requires significant interaction with Lenders, Loan Closers, Credit Officers and third-party appraisal vendors and environmental consultants
• Uses web-based RIMS system to monitor and process internal requests for real estate appraisal and environmental services. Makes recommendations for software enhancements and engages IT personnel to ensure successful implementation
• Manages Third Party Due Diligence interaction with Corporate Procurement. Maintains approved appraiser and environmental consultant lists in accordance with established bank policy. Qualifies and documents third party competencies, areas of coverage and limitations in RIMS
• Performs or assigns appraisal and environmental tasks with established directives involving knowledge and application of policies and procedures. Participates in special projects, coordinates data transmission for bank audits and regulatory examinations and performs additional duties as required
• Manages the Commercial Appraisal team’s SharePoint site
• Confirms property level details with data sources and public records to eliminate errors/discrepancies. Selects appropriate third-party vendors and distributes Requests for Proposal (RFP) for select appraisal and environmental services
• Develops spreadsheets for portfolio tracking as warranted. Continually monitors requests and engagements for potential delays and updates the status requirements in RIMS to keep business partners informed
• Provides customer service to existing and potential customers in a professional and timely manner. Acts as primary contact for office management and related services
• Selects appropriate vendor and reports engagement terms to internal business partners and engages real estate appraisal or environmental services
• Upon receipt of the appraisal report, may perform select administrative reviews to ensure conformance with USPAP and the Bank's Appraisal Policy, or assigns the report to the Commercial Real Estate Review Appraiser for completion of a comprehensive appraisal review
• Upon receipt of the environmental services report, assigns the report to the Environmental Risk Specialist or Environmental Risk Manager for review as needed
• Confirms electronic documents are available in RIMS for use by business partners and loan closers. Acts as Company and Department resource for access, information and assistance with RIMS
• Collects required documentation for the approval of appraiser and environmental consultants.
• Confirms assignment requests are submitted in compliance with Policy and Procedures thresholds and requirements. Supports department through general administrative assistance and participates in department meetings as appropriate to discuss and improve appraisal and environmental processes
• Successfully completes all required online training and follows department procedures resulting in effective compliance for all job-relevant State and Federal regulations, including, but not limited to Employee Policies, Procedures, CRA, EEO/AA, as well as all job relevant Risk Management, Environmental Risk Department, Real Estate Appraisal Department and Corporate Standards

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in operations management, business, finance, IT, or related field
• 2+ years related real estate experience with RIMS and training or equivalent combination of related education and experience
• Experience coordinating valuation and environmental risk services
• Strong understanding of banking and/or the real estate valuation process
• Ability to perform and meet deadlines
• Excellent customer communication skills, both written and oral
• Competency with Microsoft Office programs, with an emphasis on Excel and Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and the ability to learn new technology quickly
• Very detailed and highly organized
• Excellent process management skills
• Ability to construct and interpret reports
