Responsibilities • Provide oversight/direction to Bad Debt Recovery department employees
• Develop proven mentoring techniques to help every team member realize their performance potential. Provide ongoing training and development of the representatives
• Develop strategies to mitigate losses and maximize recoveries related to problem loans/leases
• Review, negotiate, and/or draft documentation to facilitate lease/loan structures and ensure CIT’s legal and lien priority positions are in order
• Actively manage significant bankruptcy,  litigation cases in conjunction with outside counsel
• Review documents prepared by outside counsel including complaints, motions.  Interface with inside and outside counsel as necessary in connection with documentation issues
• Conduct research as needed to support litigation strategies, and reduce the cost of outside counsel Qualifications • In-depth knowledge of bankruptcy law as well as extensive experience in managing accounts with outside                     counsel through the bankruptcy process
• Demonstrated supervisory skills including ability to develop and motivate
• Experience in commercial finance and secured transactions
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management
