Are you a results-oriented professional with a strong grasp and experience in investment banking and capital markets regulatory compliance? If so, we have the position for you in our Jacksonville, Florida office! This is a 6-month contract with the potential to extend beyond this period.
Seize this great opportunity where you will get to provide real-time compliance advice and support to the financial advisory business-aligned Compliance team for the Americas. You will be involved in advising on a variety of matters related to managing conflicts of interest, information barriers, Equity Capital Markets and Debt Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions advisory, development and management of principal investments, lending and syndication, internal controls, supervisory responsibilities, as well as advising on conduct and integrity matters.
In this role, you will conduct the initial review of all advisory, financing and principal transactions for evidence of conflicts and send escalations to the appropriate stakeholders. Your excellent written and communication skills will enable you to coordinate with the business to receive timely status updates on outstanding transactions, provide advice and guidance consistent with the firm’s policies and procedures, and work with US based and global stakeholders to draft, update and implement policies and procedures to develop best practices.
Having strong interpersonal skills, initiative, and a good eye for detail will be imperative in this role to help identify regulatory trends and developments that impact investment banking and capital markets, provide compliance training and materials, and assist the business to implement and document various supervisory/control mechanisms. Testing and monitoring of compliance with firm policies and conducting risk assessments of the business to ensure there is an effective business control framework are additional responsibilities in this role.
You should have a partnership mentality and be comfortable working in a team environment while also possessing the ability to work remotely and independently to meet deadlines, all while keeping an open communication with your Local Manager and the Americas Control Room team.
Your degree and experience in a financial services, investment banking, broker-dealer or regulatory environment, as well as having working knowledge of global capital markets and understanding of the U.S. regulatory environment are required in this role. Completion of the FINRA series exams is preferred, but not required.
