POSITION SUMMARY:

The Systems Analyst position will sit within Nuveen's Distribution Technology team - a group of cross skilled technology professionals that partner with Nuveen's distribution business units. This position will focus on supporting and enhancing technology solutions for distribution reporting, Client Relationship Management (CRM), and process automation work domains. The Analyst will work closely with Nuveen's distribution business teams and IT to support technology and data needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Application Support

  • Support business users with application and data issues/questions
  • Code and execute data maintenance changes via SQL
  • Configure applications and reports via existing UI tools
  • Document procedures and training materials
  • Coordinate medium/large application changes with IT Developers and Infrastructure
  • Test application enhancements before and after production deployment
  • Diagnose, analyze, and solve application and data issues
Process Automation
  • Identify opportunities to increase scale and efficiency within the Distribution Technology operating model
  • Develop small enhancements and automation for existing applications, business processes, and data processes
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year university
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and conceptual skills
  • Self-directed, self-starter, and motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Solid technology background, including an understanding of technology-governance frameworks, and applications used in financial services
  • Ability to read and write SQL
Preferred Skills:
  • Excellent communication (written and oral) with senior leaders and peers, facilitation, interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Responsive and proactive in answering questions
  • Familiarity with salesforce.com and Tableau
  • Broad knowledge of Investment Management industry operations, investing strategies, distribution channels, and business control and support functions
  • Familiarity with (or interest in learning) Python
