Job Summary

The Associate Product Manager for the Private Passport Platform supports the delivery and enhancement of Northern Trust's digital client experience by partnering with product, engineering, UX, operations, risk, compliance, and business teams. This role assists with product planning, requirements gathering, backlog management, testing, stakeholder engagement, and release execution to help deliver secure, scalable, and intuitive digital experiences for clients.

Working under the guidance of Product Managers and Product Leadership, the Associate Product Manager helps translate business needs into product solutions, supports platform adoption efforts, gathers user feedback, and contributes to the continued evolution of the Private Passport platform. The role provides an opportunity to develop product management expertise while driving meaningful improvements to the client experience.

Major Duties
  • Manage day-to-day support activities, including intake and triage of user requests, escalation of issues, and coordination with appropriate teams.
  • Support product discovery efforts by identifying stakeholders, facilitating requirements sessions, and documenting business needs and user requirements.
  • Assist with product roadmap planning, backlog refinement, and agile delivery activities, including creating and maintaining epics, features, and user stories.
  • Partner with business, technology, and UX to help deliver platform enhancements that improve the client experience.
  • Support user acceptance testing, pilot programs, and production releases to ensure successful implementation of new capabilities.
  • Maintain product documentation, inventories, business processes, and supporting materials to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor product performance, adoption metrics, and user satisfaction to support continuous improvement efforts.
  • Assist with stakeholder communications, status updates, demos, and presentations.
Knowledge & Skills
  • Foundational understanding of product management principles, agile methodologies, and digital product development.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage business and technology stakeholders.
  • Ability to gather requirements, document business processes, and translate user needs into actionable product backlog items.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience using agile delivery tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Knowledge of wealth management, financial services, or client-facing digital solutions preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate across teams, and influence stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
Experience & Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Product Management, Business Analysis, Project Management, Digital Platforms, or related disciplines preferred.
  • Experience working within financial services, wealth management, or client-facing digital products is a plus.
  • Agile, Product Management, or business-related certifications are desirable but not required.

The Associate Product Manager plays an important role in supporting product delivery, gathering user insights, and driving continuous platform improvements that enhance client satisfaction, strengthen adoption, and support Northern Trust's digital wealth management strategy.

Salary Range:
$80,800 - 133,400 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
