POSITION SUMMARY:
Nuveen is seeking a highly motivated individual to join our Asset Management Consultant Relations team as Vice President, Consultant Relations. The successful candidate will partner with the team's Managing Director to ensure coverage of the team's region-based Consultant Relations efforts. This individual will work to foster relationships with counterparts at Investment Consulting firms resulting in the development and retention of assets for our asset management product line.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Fulfill sales support and service requests for product and marketing collateral.
  • Build relationships with support staff at Investment Consulting firms in order to identify opportunities and business at risk with the goal of increasing and retaining the assets invested in Nuveen Asset Management investment solutions.
  • Extensive email and phone-based service for requests that are either ad hoc, recurring, or involve requests for proposals.
  • Develop, maintain and communicate knowledge of Nuveen's investment expertise to influence Investment Consultant decisions.
  • Research the validity of public search opportunities.
  • Coordinate activities with the RFP Team for client and prospect request for information.
  • Work closely with team's Managing Director to advance territory plans.
  • Compile management reports as need.
  • Work with legal, product, operations contacts to ensure smooth on-boarding of new clients.
  • Identify, cultivate and drive relationships with centers of influence with respect to internal business partners
  • Maintain and document activities through CRM.
  • Special project work as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS:


EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Knowledge and understanding of financial markets and investment products across the range of traditional assets is required and alternative asset classes a plus.
  • BS/BA degree required.
  • Strong analytic skills.
  • Ability to develop strong client relationships and an in-depth understanding of client needs.
  • Sound time management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines independently.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team

INTERPERSONAL/COMMUNICATION/LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Personal initiative- Self-starter who takes on an entrepreneurial approach to complete required tasks.
  • Detail oriented and highly organized
  • Ability to communicate complex information and analysis in written and graphical form
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills in order to work collaboratively across multiple business units

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel required.
  • Preferred:
  • Knowledge and understanding of alternative asset classes a plus.
  • Facility with Excel pivot tables, V-lookup, macros a plus.
  • Familiarity with institutional investment consulting industry a plus.
  • Familiarity with eVestment Alliance, Morningstar Direct a plus


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • Series 7 and 63 preferred but not required immediately. Must be able to obtain within 6 months.
