About the Team:
The Director, Learning & Development is responsible for directing short and long-term planning strategies for organizational learning by identifying, developing, designing and delivering a variety of learning curriculum to meet the technical and leadership demands of business unit leaders and employees using a consultative approach. Organizational development responsibilities may include enabling positive culture, employee engagement, change and transition management, succession planning and team effectiveness strategies.

Job Summary & Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the instructional design, development, delivery and evaluation of learning events, programs, policies and strategies in support of a high performing culture and enhanced business outcomes.
  • Manage a comprehensive development program that facilitates the professional development and continuous learning to support management opportunity, employee development and technical/skills training.
  • Consult with business units to assess and develop short and long-term planning strategies and initiatives. Work with business unit / department leadership and HR Business Partners to identify areas where common training solutions can be leveraged across the firm based on core and leadership expectations.
  • Facilitate a comprehensive onboarding program focused on the retention, engagement and success of new employees.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs and learning events to meet the professional development and continuing education needs focused on supervisory, management and leadership development for all employee types, while developing and communicating clear training goals and measures of success against these objectives.
  • Develop and facilitate new and innovative formal and informal learning opportunities including, but not limited to workshops, lunch and learns, on demand learning, retreats, certificate programs, book clubs, administrative professional conferences, mentoring programs, etc.
  • Manage L&D by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees, communicating job expectations, assigning work, establishing goals, evaluating performance, coaching and counseling when necessary.
  • Evaluate the results of training, determine effectiveness and recommend appropriate alternatives.
  • Establish a budget for training. Monitor and control all related expenses, including vendor management, ensure cost effective methods are utilized while ensuring business training needs are met.
  • Provide overall leadership and direction to team / resources including coaching, mentoring and development.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Education or related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.
  • 7+ years professional experience in administration of training, orientation and or/project management required.
  • Experience in developing organizational learning and development strategy.
  • Demonstrated success in developing training programs designed to support business needs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory, needs assessment tools, instruction design methods, and blended learning strategies.
  • Experience in the deployment and administration of learning management systems.
  • Demonstrated success in developing training programs designed to support business needs.
  • Financial services or professional services industry background strongly preferred.
  • Professional training credentials preferred such as: CPTM, CPLM, CTDP or CTP.
