Head of IT Governance

ABN AMRO Clearing Chicago is seeking an experienced IT professional to join our dynamic team.

This role is for an experienced IT manager with IT governance credentials as well as meaningful IT service delivery and IT vendor management experience.  A significant aspect of this role is ensuring internal IT service delivery to business units and monitoring inbound service delivery to the IT department from technology partners.  The Head of IT Governance will manage the IT Governance team and provide expert advice to ensure the IT Governance function, IT service delivery and vendor management are continuously improved and service delivery standards are maintained.  The role is a member of the IT management team which is responsible for steering the performance of the IT department as a whole.  The scope of IT Governance includes ITIL process management, service continuity management, IT performance management, audit and regulatory interactions and matrixed responsibility for the IT security service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define, implement and maintain service and operational level agreements
  • Define, implement and maintain IT governance policies
  • Propose enhancements to policies and agreements to improve IT service
  • Resolve any gaps in practice when required
  • Monitor and evidence performance against SLAs, OLAs and IT governance policies
  • Produce monthly reports on the effectiveness of IT service delivery
  • Regularly communicate with partners and vendors to review service delivery
  • Work to improve the maturity level of service provider relationships
  • Collaborate with IT management to continually evolve service delivery
  • Collaborate with Operational Risk Control to ensure role based access standards are designed and enforced for service providers
  • Provide timely reviews of vendor and supplier access to ensure accounts are still valid and not over provisioned
  • Escalate any perceived security concerns with current service delivery
  • Investigate and report on all service delivery failures and all IT governance breaches
  • Provide back-up for IT Governance manager functions
  • Ensure quality evidence is provided  on the effectiveness of IT controls in order to establish the maturity level and identify gaps between practice and policy
  • Participate in projects to ensure compliance with IT governance policies
  • Works with IT line managers at all levels to ensure they are fulfilling their specific governance responsibilities
  • After hours work as required

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree/experience
  • COBIT certified assessor or ITIL accreditation
  • 5+ years’ experience working in IT
  • 2+ years’ experience working within a service delivery capacity
  • 2+ years’ experience working within an information or technology governance role
  • Experience working in a regulated and/or financial industry
  • Able to collaborate with diverse teams and staff of all levels

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience with COBIT and ITIL control frameworks
  • Experience with Role Based Access
  • Proficient with wiki tools
  • Experience with system monitoring tools
  • Thorough understanding of industry best practices with regards to IT Governance and service delivery
