About the Position

The Network Engineer 4 will help build and support integrity and stability of the corporate network infrastructure. The network includes all connectivity for over 25 locations, and includes primarily Cisco equipment including routers, switches, wireless, security and VoIP components.

The Network Engineer 4 will function as a member of a team that provides 24 x 7 support for the enterprise.

The candidate will require strong technical design, architecture, and troubleshooting skills that are balanced with leadership and interpersonal capabilities. This is not just a network babysitting job and will focus on projects enhancing and upgrading the current network environment.

Specific Responsibilities Include

Strategy & Planning

  • Perform analysis & trending of utilization and growth providing a proactive design based on the demand of the business.
  • Build, maintain, and audit all network related documentation as it relates to configuration, processes, service records, asset inventories, topologies, administration manuals, job instructions, support contacts etc.

Support and Maintenance

  • Perform ongoing monitoring, alerting, and reporting of current resource utilization levels, and errors in the environment using a variety of tools and processes
  • Implement and maintain network security best practices by assessing current threats, vulnerabilities, risks and associated technical countermeasures.
  • Maintain current counts inventories for support and maintenance per location by working with our selected vendor.

Skills & Experience Required

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • 5 years of Network Engineering experience with Cisco equipment for medium to large organizations(1000 + employees) with remote locations
  • Familiar with design, architecture, and implementation of WAN, LAN, and security implementations
  • Demonstrated experience working with network management platforms and forensic packet analysis
  • Experience working with all application owners and other IT stakeholders to build and support the most efficient and stable networking capabilities
  • Demonstrated experience with Cisco Call Manager, Unity Connection Manager, UCCX
  • Experience with 24 X 7 support leadership in conjunction with an outsourced service provider maintaining accountability and measurement of uptime, and performance
  • Preferred Certifications: CCNP / CCSP. CISSP considered a big plus but not required.
