Job Description
At a time when many companies are looking to strengthen their balance sheets and get back to basics, the twin issues of currency and accuracy come to the fore. Many of the key operations of a tax department managing fixed assets, property tax, inventory and/or tax credits can be enormously time-consuming and complex, not to mention frequently scrutinized by state and federal authorities. In addition, newer developments such as FIN 48 and the advent of IFRS have highlighted the importance of maintaining adequate documentation to support your position.

PwC's Tax Projects Delivery Group (TPDG) works with clients on large tax engagements which require a team of specialists with deep tax technical knowledge and experience in key federal tax areas. We can help your company identify permanent cash tax savings and refund opportunities, consider the impact of deductions and credits on your effective tax rate, and apply established methodologies and processes to complex areas of taxation, helping ensure consistency year over year.

Our key service areas include:

- Research & Development Credit Services
- Fixed Asset & Repairs
- Accounting Methods
- Like-kind Exchange
- Transaction Services
- Meals & Entertainment

Position/Program Requirements
Minimum Years of Experience: 8

Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Tax

Certification(s) Required: CPA, Enrolled Agent or Member of the Bar

Knowledge Preferred:
Extensive knowledge of accounting methods studies, revenue recognition issues, and areas of deduction.
Thorough knowledge of inventory, including LIFO.

Skills Preferred:
Extensive technical skills, including identifying appropriate accounting methods, the tax analyses of timing of income, revenue and deductions, cost capitalization, revenue recognition, FAS 109 and compliance.
Thorough experience identifying and addressing client needs: developing and sustaining deep client relationships using networking, negotiation and persuasion skills to identify and sell potential new service opportunities; preparing and presenting complex written and verbal materials; and defining resource requirements, project workflow, budgets, billing and collection.
Thorough experience as a team leader: leading teams to generate a vision, establish direction and motivate members, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, coach staff, and encourage improvement and innovation.

Given the specialized need, we are looking for an engineering / cost segregation professional. The work would include cost segregation, tangible property regulation applications, and fixed asset life/method accounting methods changes.
