Associate Accountant

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 1-3 years of experience in accounting
  • Detail-oriented with understanding of business and financial concepts and accounting
  • Ability to cultivate strong business relationships
  • Ability to utilize financial systems and reporting tools; working knowledge of Microsoft products (Excel)
  • Experience with Essbase and Oracle Business Intelligence a plus
  • Audit background or experience working with auditors
  • CPA preferred

The Purpose of Your Role

As an individual contributor in Corporate Accounting, you will be primarily responsible for many accounting and financial reporting activities supporting various Workplace Solutions legal entities and will work closely with the finance and controllership teams to provide accounting support to their organization. Additionally, this individual will assist with enhancing accounting processes, controls, systems and developing improved reporting of accounting results. This role offers exposure to different Workplace Solutions business units, outside regulators, and external auditors.

  • You understand the importance of confidentiality when working with sensitive information
  • You have proficiency in MS Excel. Word and PowerPoint skills are a plus
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and meet tight deadlines at each month-end
  • Highly motivated, flexible, quality focused, team player with strong organizational skills

The Value You Deliver
  • Work closely with finance and other business unit accountants to ensure the transactions for your legal entities are being accurately recorded in the G/L
  • Actively participate in month end accounting close, such as preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis for multiple Workplace Solutions legal entities
  • Provide business unit(s) with well written financial commentary on monthly results as well as the account reconciliations
  • Assist in the annual audit process with external auditors, including the preparation of financial statements and audit schedules
  • Participate in the response to inquiries from management, auditors and regulatory agencies
  • Participate in the development and completion of special projects

    • This role on the Workplace Solutions accounting team is responsible for ensuring activities are captured and transactions are recorded correctly in the G/L and subsequently the financial statements. An extremely high degree of accuracy and precision is required in this role.
