The Role:
Under the direction of the Trade Operations Manager, the Derivatives Specialist will be responsible for responsible for futures, options, Swaps, FX forwards and collateral movement across all Standish clients. The individual in this role will monitor and reconcile all derivative cash movements and collateral and ensure this is reconciled daily with brokers. The Derivatives Specialist will also monitor the confirmation process through DTCC as well as any non-DTCC eligible swap transactions. He or she will also use Charles River to confirm some trades executed by our Derivatives Traders, as well as processing trades manually to our Accounting Platform. 
 
This position requires an individual who is both self-motivated and detail oriented; a strong communicator who is comfortable interfacing across multiple departments and with individuals at various levels of the organization.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Post domestic derivatives, including (but not limited to) swap, Future, Options and collateral transactions to custody and accounting systems
  • Reviews cash activity and reconciliations
  • Ensure that all discrepancies with custodians and brokers are identified and resolved in a timely fashion
  • Manage and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
  • Maintain internal files and records associated with the performance of duties in accordance with department standards


Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • At least 1 year of professional experience in Accounting or Finance
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to derivatives processing and settlement
