We are seeking a Market Data - Category Strategy Specialist to help drive the Market Data Procurement strategy, transformation initiatives, and implementation plans to ensure the businesses have the most cost effective and optimal Market Data services where needed.

What you will be responsible for

As Market Data Category Strategy you will
  • Develop and implement an effective, creative and functional market data strategy in line with business unit/corporate goals.
  • Engage and work closely with business partners and management on strategic sourcing requirements, cultivate 3rd party vendor relationships, coordinating data and functionality requirements, projects, priorities, and timelines to develop the appropriate solutioning advice.
  • Provide data analysis, advice, guidance, education on market data products and influence business unit strategy for market data services
  • Help develop category strategies, financial models, and implementation plans for Globalization of vendors to reduce the expense base
  • Help lead complex negotiations with suppliers to reduce the expense base and improve service capabilities
  • Help businesses optimize their spend by analyzing and eliminating unnecessary demand, vetting and utilizing lower cost alternatives
  • Provide consultative advice on licensing parameters of use and advocate for data compliance with business stakeholders
  • Participating in relevant industry groups, representing State Street, and track and communicate industry trends and market intelligence back to our stakeholders.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Proven track record of developing strong category strategies, project plans, and leading negotiations to bring in cost savings and other benefits with 10 + years related experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written (Powerpoint, Email, etc for senior level audiences)
  • Excellent analytical skills with data analysis, insights, and recommendations to help drive cost saves; proficiency in excel
  • Market Data Globalization and Asset Management experience strongly preferred
  • Understanding of complex index and fund construction is a plus
