State Street Global Exchange's "Data-as-a-Service" platform, or DataGX(SM), is a powerful tool for normalization, enrichment and aggregation of investment data that enables our Clients to source and manage multi-asset class data from any service provider or data vendor and generate a more holistic and integrated view of their holdings. The platform reflects State Street's years of experience servicing complex instruments for our global client base and our investments in building advanced data management technologies.

The Product SME - DataGX is a versatile individual with strong business systems and data analysis skills and an understanding of data modeling and design principles who influences development of DataGX product and service offerings. The successful candidate must be skilled in complex business data analysis with expertise in functional requirements gathering and documentation; have an understanding of design and design principles; have excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; demonstrate an ability to liaise between business/implementation and technology teams and display strong collaboration skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Support individual client implementation efforts including:
    • Work with the Client Implementation and Development teams as well as the Project Manager to help establish project delivery plans and delivery estimates
    • Partner with sales teams as needed to provide estimates of work
    • Provide analysis and advice to Client and Development teams around design and changes to the core product as well as client specific solutions
  • Act as product focused Subject Matter Experts responsible for defining and maintaining the standards around data ingestion
  • Own and drive overall design strategy for product implementations
  • Create and finalize the Design Architecture Documentation; providing overall design guidance as needed, including on the integration of new sources, new data sets and new data element requirements
  • Ensure that DGX Data Governance standards adhere to internal Enterprise Data Governance requirements
  • Work with ALPHA team to ensure model alignment with Front office solutions and our Back office data strategy
  • Create and maintain Product Documentation, including material stored on the wiki and our client facing product catalog
  • Maintain an excellent working knowledge of the Data GX offering to perform Subject Matter Expert activities; consultancy, implementation configuration and demonstrations
  • Analyze and document data mappings from source systems to DataGX(SM) and downstream data flows for client implementations
  • Support on-going enhancements to scope of services for existing clients as needed
  • Collaborate with other DataGX(SM) Implementation team members to share best practices, raise issues, develop consistent global processes
  • Responsible for global communication with State Street colleagues to socialize & coordinate key changes to DataGX(SM) or updates that have cross client impact (i.e. new EDM's, EDM changes)

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or above.
  • 8+ years of strong experience with data management systems and markets
  • In depth knowledge across all asset types and types of data (positions, cash, transactions, general ledger, etc.)
  • Previous experience implementing software or data services a plus
  • Effective communicator - can summarize succinctly and can provide details when needed
  • Team oriented - capable of working in a global setting
  • Detail oriented and strong sense of responsibility
  • Knowledge and working experience of SQL, Oracle, Toad, Squirrel, EDM and ETL are all an advantage.
  • Flexible and can adapt easily to changing/evolving role requirements
  • Self-motivated and able to influence others
