POSITION Description The Project Manager will part of a team responsible for supporting the business and operational needs of the Legal and Compliance function. The person will collaborate with numerous functions across the firm that Legal and Compliance department supports or engages with in connection with its control activities. The role will report to the Associate Director of Legal and Compliance located in Boston. Responsibilities Provide leadership, tools and support to the management team in Legal and Compliance relating to the core activities and responsibilities of the department within a global asset manager. This will include leading and managing key strategic initiatives of the department. An initial responsibility will be to lead and manage the evolution of our global compliance infrastructure over the next two years including the development of a coordinated global risk assessment, monitoring and reporting suite that will be integrated with a Governance, Risk Management and Compliance ("GRC") platform. In addition, this role will be deeply involved in driving the global Legal and Compliance department to transform its use of technology and alternative sourcing arrangements to give the department greater leverage to support growth initiatives at the firm, including the expansion of the firm's global wealth management and alternatives businesses. The role is based in either the United States or the EMEA region, but involves support of functions located across the globe. Qualifications • 8-12+ years of experience in project/change management and/or operations • Demonstrated capability in directly managing large scale complex projects from inception through delivery. • Ability to apply project and change management skills to new subject matters and areas of the business • Experience in analysing and optimizing processes and staffing to achieve scale, flexibility, economic and risk targets. • Good business judgment and strong collaboration skills • Experience in leading and achieving transformational strategic objectives • Creativity and ability to work under pressure and deadlines • Excellent verbal and written communications skills including experience with executive presentations • Strong process, risk and controls orientation • Ability to identify activities that are appropriate to automate or utilize third party providers; and a demonstrated track record of execution and /or oversight of these types of arrangements • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment; adaptable and flexible style that complements a wider team and makes it better • Experience in the financial services industry is preferred • A positive attitude and sense of humor JOB TITLE
