POSITION

This individual will play a key support role in meeting the Firm's internal and external financial reporting requirements related to the Firm and its international affiliates as well as financial analysis and certain accounting responsibilities.

This position will work in close collaboration with our various groups within the Finance function, Legal and Compliance, and certain representatives from the business to ensure that the internal and external financial reporting and analysis are accurate and appropriate. The ability to work cross-functionally is a critical component of this position.

The key responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Assume ownership of accounting and reporting for Wellington's legal entities by supervising accounting tasks, such as journal entries and reconciliation, as well as performing financial analysis
  • Assist in the preparation and issuance of various financial statements, including providing external audit support such as audit work papers and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly internal management reporting, including forecasting
  • Assist in responding to external client requests for information related to financial matters
  • Provide support in the completion of regulatory reporting and assist in the monitoring of regulatory compliance across entities
  • Support financial reporting and control-related special projects within Global Accounting
  • Maintain technical knowledge in the applicable US and international accounting and reporting standards
  • Develop, document, and maintain processes and control procedures to support these regulatory requirements including updating important process memos/risk assessments, filings, and financial reporting calendars
  • Interact with senior management and supervise staff accountants


This position will report to Manager, Global Accounting.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of previous working experience with at least 3 years of relevant experience. An undergraduate degree in accounting and/or a CPA (or CPA candidate) is preferred. Experience in the public accounting and/or financial services industry is a plus, as is experience with Workday Financials.

The successful candidate will have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks. This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented person who can be successful under tight deadlines. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, interacting and collaborating, with all levels of counterparties both internal and external of the company, as well as strong Microsoft Office skills.
