Software Testing Engineer
Who we are looking for
The Software Testing Engineer will play a key role in the quality assurance of AML Transaction Monitoring suite of applications in the Boston, MA area. We are looking for someone who has proven experience with testing and automating complex applications. This role will be responsible for defining and maintaining an acceptance testing cycle that is common in an Agile process including automation. Candidate will be expected to attend daily scrum ceremonies and required to attend meeting with onshore and offshore teams to discuss/resolve impediments. Candidate should have willingness to learn new technologies and work under pressure with stringent timelines.

What you will be responsible for
As Software Testing Engineer you will
  • Drive testing and test automation across multiple platforms including AML Transaction Monitoring.
  • Work with users and developers to define new projects to extend and enhance the company's proprietary financial applications.
  • Create test scenarios and implement functional test cases (automated and otherwise) that will serve as acceptance test criteria for enhancements and new applications
  • Work closely with developers and quality assurance members to run test suites and research errors.
  • Work with the support group to reproduce production problems and identify gaps in the regression test suite.
  • Work with developers to utilize and extend custom test harnesses for applications.
  • Find ways to enhance the testing process with new tools, strategies or techniques.
  • Willing to learn new technologies and push the boundaries of test automation to achieve measurable efficiencies.

  • Advanced ability to create objects and methods, and hand-coded test scripts using automated testing tools.
  • Advanced knowledge of reusable coding patterns and object oriented paradigms as applied to automated testing tools.
  • Ability to quickly troubleshoot and diagnose issues within the quality assurance environment and communicate that knowledge to a varied audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience delivering multiple versions of one or more applications.
  • Experience leading a team, including assigning project priorities, communicating QA status to other managers and mentoring less junior associates.
  • Experience managing offshore resources.

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with concentration in Engineering, Business or Technology preferred.
  • Candidate should have 10+ Yrs. of experience in QA/Testing.
  • Excellent understanding and hands on experience in ETL/DWH testing.
  • Hands on experience on SQL (Analytical Functions and complex queries), SQL developer and TOAD.
  • Knowledge on Spark and Scala, Hive/Impala, Python will be an added advantage.
  • Experience on Big Data Testing will be an added advantage.
  • Should have excellent knowledge in STLC process -include creating, maintaining and executing automation/functional test plans, writing test scripts against software platforms, communicating test results, defect tracking and participating in day to day QA activities.
  • Experience in Financial domain is highly desirable (Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Sanctions, Transaction Monitoring, Know Your Customer (KYC), financial securities, and trading principles).
  • Knowledge of test methodologies and their corresponding tools- like HP ALM, RTC...etc.
  • Should have good understanding of Agile methodology and Agile Ceremonies.
  • Work with geographically distributed teams while maintaining highest standard in collaboration and communication across the QA/DEV and Business teams.
  • Team oriented attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Person must be self-motivated, self-driven, own and consider him/herself accountable for timely completion of QA deliverables.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with great attention to details.
  • Experience on Selenium Web driver or Python for test automation framework will be an added advantage.
