Sr Mgr Software Engineer
Job Description

Provide leadership to a development team, which is comprised of both internal and vendor resources, through the design, development, documentation, testing, and modification of existing and new software applications, championing standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Participate in architecture design, performance monitoring, product evaluation, and buy versus build decisions. Track and communicate development project status, dependencies, and risks and mitigation strategies to the project team and leadership. Provide technical expertise to the business.


1) Software design/development
a. Develop/validate requirements with help of business and business analysts
b. Solution design with help of architecture practice
c. Employ effective cloud-based technologies/patterns to deliver solutions
d. Develop transition plans to move assets from on-premises to cloud environment
2) Support/maintenance
a. Analyze/fix code defects and data quality issues
b. Ensure change management done effectively
c. Ensure applications comply with info sec/risk controls
3) Lead/manage software develop practices
a. Code review/code quality
b. Software design
c. Disaster recovery planning

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent (4-years) in Computer Science, Engineering, or related Field; or equivalent work experience.
  • 7-10 years of relevant experience required.
  • 7+ years of experience coding and/or designing in multiple programming languages, including focused experience in relevant/targeted software stack
  • (specific required software stack will vary by position).
  • 5+ years of practical experience and proven success with the design and build of complex software applications in multiple environments.
  • 5+ years of experience leading highly technical professionals.
  • Experience working with vendor partner (on- and off-shore) resources.

  • Preferred Qualifications

    1) .NET development
    b. C# preferred
    c. Dependency injection
    d. Concurrent programming
    2) Relational database
    a. Experience with at least one major RDBMS
    b. Intermediate to advanced SQL
    c. Data models, indexing, query tuning
    3) Web development
    a. Experience with SPA framework (Angular, React, Vue, etc.)
    b. Understanding of MVC pattern for app development
    4) Operations
    a. Experience supporting complex application in production environment
    b. Incident management - troubleshooting
    5) Leadership
    a. Demonstrated ability to deliver with a small team
