Principal Consultant (State Street Bank and Trust Company; Burlington, Massachusetts ): will lead technical implementation engagements and teams by assessing client needs and utilizing technical expertise to identify solutions which are in alignment with CRD's current design. Specific responsibilities will include: assisting with multiple technical initiatives on multiple projects including the installation of n-tier software to DR/HA design; overseeing the day-today operations of client engagements and lead projects to completion within scope and SOW; gathering, analyzing and communicating strong technical solution design skills from pre-sales to implementation of client solutions by influencing design with concrete facts and proven results in order to maintain system integrity for both client and CRD; directing and providing guidance to less experienced consultants on implementations and identify opportunities to allocate resources as needed; demonstrating advanced understanding of Charles River Investment Management Solution (CRIMS) and technical proficiency in several of the following technologies: XML and XSLT, understanding of ERDs, Tomcat configuration and optimization, SOAP/XML and messaging software, Java and C# programming, and knowledge of ETL Tools; performing Infrastructure, Performance Tuning, Development, Advanced Configuration, Troubleshooting and Integration; mentoring team of consultants assigned to projects; and designing and executing technical training for clients.
Minimum requirements are: Master's degree, or its equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; and 2 years of experience in financial technology.
Must have: Demonstrated experience implementing financial systems within a bank, hedge fund or asset manager, or wealth management firm; proven hands-on experience implementing investment management software such as order management and compliance system; proven in-depth understanding of multi-tier technical architectures and relational database structures; proven solid knowledge of SQL, FIX, and Crystal Reports; demonstrated solid record of customer service to successfully understand customer needs and build effective relationships; demonstrated comprehensive understanding of Java, Perl, and ETL/Kettle; demonstrated experience conveying plans, issues, and concerns to clients and team members in a clear, logical and concise manner as well as the ability to influence key decision makers both internally and externally; proven ability to work within a team environment while remaining focused on providing high quality service to the customer; demonstrated experience testing interfaces to find bugs in interface codes and addressing them accordingly; and strong time management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Strong problem solving/analytical skills.
