Design & Restructuring Consultant (State Street Bank & Trust Company; North Quincy, Massachusetts ): The Design and Restructuring Consultant is a State Street beacon design and restructuring position. Under the direction of the Design and Restructuring Manager, the Design and Restructuring Consultant provides strategic direction for a business unit's restructuring effort to design and adopt an enhanced operating model, technology solutions, and process optimization opportunities. The position creates a roadmap to reach future state design by integrating transformation initiatives, lean, and BAU activities and manages large scale restructuring events across business units. The position drives collaboration and consensus with business unit leaders to drive transformation within their operations. Specific duties include: Leads the end-to-end planning and management of large complex transformational restructuring activities and/or operating model analysis; develops future state global operating models for restructuring teams that are scalable with a client centric service view; oversees the schedule, resources, budget and risks of each project to ensure targets, budget, and milestones are met; drives restructuring within business units to ensure savings can be realized and designed interim and end-state designs can be accomplished; drives target state and interim state operating model designs for business unit(s); leads the development and execution of global footprint strategy; leads technology assessment within the current processes to identify opportunities for automation; works with it and business leads to develop it solution alternatives to current manual operations; leads high-level business impact analysis to determine design and implementation approach, structure, scope, resource requirements, organization impact and priorities; adopts training, communication, human resources and change management programs necessary to ensure success of events adopted in the business unit; drives efforts (e.g., operations standardization) globally by coordinating and managing cross functional teams across the enterprise; under general supervision, plans, organizes and controls the activities of the restructuring team; provides directions and support in developing approaches/plans, executing assignments, resolving critical issues and resource contentions, and prioritizing efforts; anticipates and sets direction for the resolution of problems and works across the organization for consensus; manages & controls project scope, tracking, staffing, and budget; manages overall communications, risks, and issues resolution; manages all transformation reporting requirements for all assigned projects; serves as advocate and change agent to implement recommended solutions; provides relationship management with business leads and program peers; ensures service quality and customer satisfaction; ensures communication across restructuring, process, lean and support teams to ensure the work progresses in a consistent and timely fashion; promotes development and implementation of project methodology, tools, best practices and controls to improve process and overall quality of service; and collaborates closely with senior executive stakeholders across the project portfolio including lean management office, change management, communication, training, human resources, global strategic analytics, BPM, and organizational design.
Minimum requirements are: Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Information Systems, or a related degree; and 4 years of management consulting experience at a tier 1 consulting firm with a focus on leading strategic transformation efforts.
Must have: Total years of experience must include 3 years of experience in the following: project management; leading strategic transformation projects across large organizations that involve operating model evolution, technology design, and process optimization; delivering engagements focused on client centric operations excellence, client experience improvement, and operations optimization; leading technology engagements with a focus on IT strategy and IT roadmap development; and project management skills and managing large, complex projects and manage project teams on tight time frames. Additionally, must have proven ability to manage through complex issues and realign priorities and deliverables to ensure milestones and targets are achieved; demonstrated experience working with senior executives, reporting and communication across all levels in the organization; demonstrated experience in managing geographically distributed cross-functional project teams; demonstrated interpersonal, communication, facilitation, presentation, and negotiation skills; proven ability to be an influential change agent with business; demonstrated experience in operating model design, transformation, operations optimization, lean or driving change; demonstrated experience in developing computer systems, processes, and tools managing data in compliance with security requirements; demonstrated experience developing and implementing new processes, workflows, and system procedures to address business operational needs; proven proficiency with project management methodology and tools; demonstrated experience in reporting tools and business intelligence solutions, data management, and process improvement solutions; demonstrated experience with and knowledge of reporting tools and languages such as Tableau, MYSQL, SQL server, SQL server reporting services, and relational databases; and demonstrated advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), project scheduling and flowcharting software.
