Global Platform Engineering - SVP
The Senior Vice President, Global Platform and Insfrastructure Engineering reports directly to the Chief Technology Officer of State Street. The is responsible for the ongoing creation, modification and implementingof the technology roadmap that delivers products and solutions to support the company's business strategy including its growth objectives. This role will be responsible for leading a large global organization inclusive of our vendor partners in the following Global IT areas: Network and telecom, Data Centers, Mainframe, Midrange, Middleware, Open Systems, Storage and private and public cloud platforms. The leader will need to be able to understand business drivers, market requirements and competitive issues facing the organization while also understanding both legacy products and new technology to guide leadership on how to best modernize the technology at State Street.
Responsible for managing a total team of 250 staff globally, including 6-8 direct reports. Also responsbible for approximately 250 contractors (engineers). Annual budget responsibility of $650 million. Main Purposes of this role are:
Enhance, develop, manage and implement strong engineering practices to deliver key corporate IT/Technology Services to enable attainment of the strategic objectives of the corporation Work closely with clients, client services, sector solutions, and business teams to ensure that solutions are effective and deliver a balanced solution against the clients and our overall business strategy. Designing / delivering modernized infrastructure as code solutions across all domaines Some Key Responsibilities include:
Develop and implement strong engineering principals and processes across all areas of Infrastructure. Leads multiple teams including vendor partners in the following Global IT areas Network and telecom, Data Centers, Mainframe, Midrange, Middleware, Open Systems, Storage and private and public cloud platforms Ensure the availability and resiliency of in-scope infrastructure platforms and services Maintain the portfolio of hardware and software products and lifecycle management to remain current with industry and vendor standards for supportability Champion and promote service improvements on an ongoing basis to continually improve quality and customer satisfaction with IT services Review service metrics (KPIs) that identify the success of the services being utilized to recommend and coordinate implementation of changes to Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) services to improve metrics Provide oversight to outsourced service providers of agreed upon SLAs, agree appropriate actions to maintain and improve service levels while evolving their service program as needed for new services Incorporate regional requirements for EMEA and APAC into overall global delivery model.
