Wolters Kluwer Legal & Regulatory U.S. is a leading provider of information, business intelligence, and regulatory and legal workflow solutions for legal, corporate, and compliance professionals across several industries.

We are currently seeking an Associate Director, Sales.  This role will be responsible for maximizing revenue of Wolters Kluwer Legal Education division as well as managing and leading national sales efforts with a team of 8 sales professionals and 1 contract representative. This position works under consultative direction toward long-range goals and objectives through the planning and management of sales activities. This position works without appreciable direction; exercising considerable latitude in determining sales objectives. Work across all departments inside Legal Ed. Will be an integral part of overall Legal Ed strategies.

  • Manage and Lead both the traditional casebook/textbook adoption process across and institutional/subscription sales efforts at the law schools.
  • Develop strategies to maximize market share at all law schools across subscription, institutional and transactional sales. Generate new sales and retain existing sales for legal education products.
  • Encourage and promote teamwork between all 3 academic sales teams at each law school. Drive complex sales process to faculty, deans, administrators and library personnel.
  • Provides coaching, ongoing training, and sales advice to sales force and sales managers.
  • Works closely with Academic Sales Director, Marketing and Operations Department to develop highly relevant training for new reps and training for existing reps.
  • Ability to demo online and technology products as we migrate customers to digital.
  • Takes a creative and consultative approach toward short term and long-term sales goals and objectives.
  • Conducts sales planning, forecasting and reporting activities including pipeline reporting.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Sales Management, or related field, or equivalent.

Experience: 

  • 7-9 years of related sales experience with 5 years’ experience in a management position

Preferred Experience:

  • 5 years in higher education Direct Sales Management.
  • Extensive successful experience in building long-term relationships and agreements with higher education institutions.
  • Successful and extensive experience with directing sales teams nationally during periods of significant sales, marketing, and product transition.
  • Extensive firsthand experience with progressive CRM systems (Sales Force Preferred) and demonstrated ability to improve sales productivity based on use of sales automation.
  • Successful experience in driving programs designed to transition customer bases to new product platforms and topologies.

*50% travel during the peak selling months: March, April, September and October

10% travel the remaining 8 months of the year.

Includes overnight travel throughout entire territory Monday through Thursday.

Occasional travel to corporate offices or other locations for meetings
