Sr Business Analyst
Job Description

Support business decision-making by providing financial or statistical analyses that lead to solutions for business issues, making recommendations for action as appropriate. Support projects from design through implementation and monitoring. Be the liaison between business leaders, staff, utility functions, and at times external parties to ensure information exchange and accomplish business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Using data from a variety of sources, analyze complex business issues, incorporating company and industry knowledge, mathematical and technological expertise, and sound analytical processes. Statistical analysis, modeling, & other quantitative techniques are used to answer business questions, identify issues and/or recommend courses of action in the course of analysis.
  • Manage multiple relationships across the organization, and at times with external parties and clients. Be the main point of contact to answer questions within business analyst area of expertise. Act as liaison among business leaders, staff and utility functions to gather information and share best practices, and to ensure initiatives are executed appropriately.
  • Provide and review reports of quantitative and qualitative data produced both internally and externally to the company with special focus on Banking Operations and related products. Ensure accuracy and appropriate report design. Be responsible for resolution to reporting issues as they arise. Reports may be of a routine nature, or may be requested or run on an ad hoc basis as part of a larger project or special business concern.
  • Present results of analysis and/or recommendations to business managers, utility partners, and at times external parties. Communicate action plans and priorities to appropriate partners.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in MIS, business, computer programming or applicable experience.
  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience within bank industry specifically with analytics, data and reporting.
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of information, create linkages, and express complex concepts in a concise and audience-relevant manner.
  • Persuasive, effective communicator - able to provide thought leadership and guide understanding and decision making at all levels of leadership - via excellent written or oral communications skills.
  • Strong project management skills - demonstrates ability to provide constructive feedback, influence action and change.
  • Ability to thrive in rapidly changing environment - proactive, flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Stakeholder advocate: exhibits a genuine passion for the consumer/client, advisor and employee. Identifies and understands needs and applies that to business issues and decisions.
  • In-depth knowledge of business operations specifically banking industy and related processes with ability to articulate these processes to others.
  • Ability to thrive in rapidly changing environment - proactive, flexible and able to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Power BI, Tableau or other data visualization/graphical presentation software.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting accounting applications within the Financial Services industry (i.e. broker-dealer, asset management, banking, etc.) a plus.
  • Experience with MS SQL , C#.Net or Robotics a plus.
  • Experience with business process modeling.
  • Experience with writing use cases and test cases.
  • Experience working with the following tools: MS Office, MS Visio and version control.
  • Experience working within a defined development life cycle and agile methodology.
