Vice President, Project Management - AWM PMO
Lead a team of project management professionals to deliver projects and programs for Advice & Wealth Management (AWM). Provide program/project management expertise, strategic thought leadership and direction across the Project Management Organization (PMO) to ensure successful end-to-end project execution. Consult with business and technology leaders to align strategic vision and objectives for initiatives with outcomes. Establish and maintain standard processes across the PMO to insure high-quality and consistent project delivery. Establish and manage governance framework for financial processes for the AWM Portfolio including communications with senior leaders. May lead large initiatives, enterprise releases or programs as needed. Responsibilities
Provide vision, leadership and innovation to project teams responsible for the delivery of complex, cross-organizational initiatives in support of strategic objectives. Ensure that all projects are managed within the company's project delivery framework and utilize company/industry-standard project management methodologies and tools.
In partnership with the VP Business Analysis, drive project initiatives end-to-end, providing leadership across business lines, technology, operations, service delivery, legal/compliance, and implementation. Champion the appropriate change management processes to ensure end users are adequately prepared for changes as they are released. Ensure that the project/program planning and management processes properly define the change management expectations for the project teams.
Solve complex problems and remove roadblocks that span technology, business, development models, testing and other areas. Responsible for decision making and working with the appropriate technology and business leaders to resolve questions about scope, spend, and schedule within the project/program. Effectively guide project teams through the appropriate risk mitigation processes to decrease undesirable impacts for the end user, proposing options, managing trade-offs, etc.
Maintain the financial gating process across the portfolio to ensure value is delivered for selected programs/projects. Ensure that program/project management teams are consistently meeting expected financial controls, timelines and other commitments.
Champion and actively contribute to the continuous improvement of project management best practices to increase effectiveness of the overall PMO. Lead ongoing innovations and transformation of the AWM PMO including adapting new concepts, project processes, methodologies, and staffing models. Implement efforts to increase consistency, quality, speed, and cost-effectiveness of project delivery across AWM.
Build and develop an effective program/project management organization with appropriate skills and direction to satisfy current and future business needs. Includes: proper organizational structure, recruitment of staff (employee and vendor), skill development, performance management, salary administration, career planning, budget management and evaluating and taking appropriate action on the yearly employee satisfaction survey results.
Develop and leverage strong working relationships across the enterprise to ensure thorough and effective management of assigned program/project initiatives. Work closely with business partners, vendors, technology, change management, and project management staff to ensure project objectives and deliverables are consistently delivered. Work with technology partners and Enterprise PMO to define and ensure that policies/procedures are adopted.
Facilitate agenda optimization by ensuring business case credibility, facilitating the I/O agenda planning process and provide thought leadership on constraints, costs, and implementation strategies to provide optimal execution and re-engineering goals. Required Qualifications

Bachelors' degree or equivalent and minimum 10+ years relevant experience
Demonstrated experience in leading multiple large-scale, complex and cross-functional project initiatives end-to-end from initiation to completion and implementation, including technology and business aspects of the work.
Senior level understanding of project management methodologies and tools including the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage risk, develop detailed work plans and specifications, perform resource allocations and effectively run project team meetings.
Experience within the financial services industry, or similarly highly regulated environment.
Ability to simultaneously focus on big picture, details, and driving results.
Strong relationship building skills; highly effective communication skills that include ability to gain acceptance of others to a point of view.
Demonstrated effective people leadership abilities - proven success managing and developing a team of highly skilled project management professionals.
Adept at standard office and project management applications such as Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. Preferred Qualifications
• Strong technology project management experience - In depth knowledge of all phases of software development life cycle, including production support.
• Financial Services industry experience - specifically Advice or Wealth Management.
• Understanding of PMO operations - employee and contractor balance, resource planning and capacity management, portfolio management.
• Change management experience.
• Exposure to AGILE and waterfall methodologies.
• PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACI, PMI-RMP, PMI-SP, ITIL IPRC and/or CMMI Certification.
