Enterprise Architect – Cloud Apps
The Enterprise Cloud Architect will play a strategic role in shaping the company’s cloud architecture and cloud apps portfolio in order to meet business strategy and goals.
The Enterprise Cloud Architect will collaborate with application portfolio leads/analyst and business stakeholders to help determine solutions based on business requirements and consult on their implementation.
This position is a member of Enterprise Architecture team within the Technology and Transformation organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Develop, maintain and evangelize cloud architecture strategy to include reference architecture and standards and assist business with best practices for cloud computing Create, maintain, and govern technical architecture depicting the Business and IT landscape in its current, transitional, and future state. Provide technical consultation for technology and data solutions based on business needs; oversee architectural aspects of business solution development/deployment. Works with business leaders, external vendors, consulting partners, etc. to research emerging technologies and industry trends to define strategy for their applicability in alignment with strategic business direction. Interact and communicate effectively with Security, Operations, Information Governance, RRLA, Finance, P&C and technology senior and middle management executives as well as end user and business subject matter experts Develop and present documents, diagrams, presentations, and visualizations that clearly convey the Team’s position on technologies, architectures, strategies, and approaches in a strategic and consultative technical role
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor of Science (BS) in computer science or information systems (or equivalent work experience). 7+ years of overall experience in business IT technology Demonstrated ability to acquire new skills and apply knowledge across technical disciplines Significant experience working with application teams, vendors or service providers Significant experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, SAFe), and design/architecture aspects of project delivery Strong knowledge, experience and hands on capabilities with Microsoft Azure. Strong knowledge, experience and hands on capabilities with container engines such as Azure Kubernetes, Azure App Service Containers, Docker, AWS Elastic Container Service, etc.) Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: C#, Node.js, JSON, C++, Java, PHP, Perl, Python, Ruby on Rails, Pig/Hive Experience with scalable architectures using Azure App Service, API management, serverless technologies (Azure Functions), container orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry etc.), API management, microservice frameworks etc. Experience with software development practices including DevOps and Continuous Integration (CI)/Continuous Deployment (CD) tool chains (e.g. Azure for DevOps, Jenkins, Spinnaker, Chef, Puppet) Effective communication skills (written and verbal) to properly articulate cloud concepts and technologies to management and other IT development partners and a desire to share knowledge with the team. Ability to maintain strategic perspective, understanding the big picture and maintaining patience and persistence to achieve long-term goals and objectives. Strong organizational and presentation skills; must show experience with documenting and presenting technology strategy and experience in a strategic and consultative technical role
Thirst for knowledge and a passion for technology Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform Experience working within an IT organization supported by a managed IT services provider Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) cloud services Experience with data engineering: data warehouse modernization (including technical architectures, star/snowflake schema designs, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT pipelines and reporting/analytic tools), OLTP/OLAP data migrations Experience in the design and implementation of data architecture solutions on Business Intelligence projects; Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau and Microsoft Power BI (experience with Microsoft Power BI a plus) Experience with data integration tools such as SSIS and hand-coded SQL Experience with professional services firms.
