Pricing operations is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate receipt of prices and exchange rates from automated price feeds, resolution of unpriced securities and timely update of prices to portfolio accounting system and respective downstream systems.

The Senior Pricing Analyst role will be responsible for the accurate and timely pricing of securities and exchange rates daily.  This includes reviewing price files, updating manual prices and monitoring successful processing of jobs within the Nuveen Middle Office pricing application.  The role will required some thorough research and troubleshoot of pricing issues.

This position will be located in our Charlotte, NC or Chicago, IL office. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsibility includes daily pricing of domestic, international equities and fixed income securities. This entails the validation and verification of daily/monthly pricing utilizing multiple vendors and various market data sources (Bloomberg, Reuters), Analysis and research of daily US and international market movements relative to price fluctuations will be required.
  • Monitoring world markets throughout the day: research and effectively communicate significant market and security events (trade halts, early exchange closings) to advisory teams and senior management.
  • Liaison for third party vendors, external clients and custodians. Provide support to traders, portfolio managers middle office, fund administration, and fund accounting.  Prepare monthly metrics and pricing reports for senior management.
  • Project participation. This will include writing business requirements, reviewing functional specifications, testing and implementation.
  • Monitor receipt of foreign exchange rates and prices into the data warehouse system
  • Validation and verification of daily pricing and exchange rates (missing fx , prices, zero prices, day-over-day changes) utilizing secondary vendors , various market data sources and fund accounting
  • Maintenance and application of pricing overrides
  • Prepare monthly metric and pricing reports for senior management
  • Prepare development of workflow process suggestions and documentation
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
QUALIFICATIONS: Required Skills:
  • 3 or more years experience supporting equity, fixed income, derivatives operations (pricing, data management, corporate actions).
  • 2 or more years of experience with fixed income and equities, investment instrument types.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Skills:
  • Bachelors degree
  • Bloomberg experience strongly preferred.
  • Understanding of pricing methodologies.
  • Reuters, IDC, workstations a plus. Knowledge of ASC820, fair value and liquidity determination.
  • Thorough understanding of world markets, and exchanges.
  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Strong background in Fixed Income valuation/analysis and or Fund accounting.
