The Senior Director, Fiduciary Tax is responsible for overseeing and leading the Fidelity Personal Trust Company (FPTC) tax group and is the primary resource for fiduciary tax guidance. The FPTC tax group facilitates the timely and accurate filing of fiduciary income tax returns and estimates and interfaces with business partners and wealthy individuals and trust clients across the U.S. The Senior Director, Fiduciary Tax will take a lead position involving tactical and strategic decisions for fiduciary accounts and overall tax strategy to support the FPTC trust offering.

The Expertise We're Looking For

  • College Degree in accounting or finance or equivalent related experience
  • 10 years fiduciary tax experience required with at least 3 years in a management capacity
  • Experienced with tax research services and able to provide authoritative guidance
  • Proficient with tax systems such as Thomson OneSource
  • Experience with personal trust accounting systems and tax operations
  • CPA, IRS Enrolled Agent preferred

The Value You Deliver
  • Facilitating all state and federal fiduciary tax filing and payments and ensuring appropriate tax reporting to FPTC clients
  • Managing, coaching and training a team of tax associates on fiduciary tax processes
  • Collaborating with trust administration team and fiduciary officers to ensure appropriate tax compliance and proper trust administration
  • Interfacing with clients, advisors, internal business partners and external tax preparers with respect to fiduciary tax topics
  • Providing tax technical expertise to FPTC trust offering including tax interpretations of trust documents and their dispositive provisions, tax research involving taxable and tax exempt accounts, guidance on posting tax impacting transactions, and resolving tax matters for tax clients with tax authorities
  • Managing risk by monitoring tax activities and ensuring policies and procedures are followed
  • Managing a budget to support staff, vendors, systems/software and professional services

The Senior Director, Fiduciary Tax provides tax support to ensure proper administration of FPTC's trust business.
