BNYMellon Asset Servicing provides global solutions tailored to meet our clients'unique needs to help enhance the management, administration and oversight oftheir entire investment process and deliver the tools they need to expand theirability to process, monitor and measure investment data from around the world.

Theexperienced full stack Java engineer will be working on a global engineeringteam responsible for building enterprise financial services. In this role, youwill be not only be designing and coding, but also collaborating with teammembers and mentoring junior developers to help design and build world classsoftware engineering capabilities within the Group.

Job responsibilities and opportunities:

  • Drive the design and implementation of scalable, high performing and robust applications.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans.
  • Available to provide advice and assistance to teams on technical difficulties that arise in the course of doing their work.
  • Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers including code reviews and diving in to coding assignments, as well as defining and implementing best in class standards.
  • Recommend and implement new technologies and architectures to ensure applications remain current and robust.
  • Identify opportunities to move towards Continuous Delivery/Continuous Integration.

  • Ensure solutions are architected with afocus on security, stability, scalability, and resiliency, leveragingengineering principles such as microservices, cloud, containerization, andreliability.

  • Partner, engage, and educate members ofother application development teams on adopting and leveraging moderndevelopment methodologies.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer scienceengineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, experiencein software development required, experience in the securities or financialservices industry is a plus.

Thesuccessful candidate will have the following experience:

  • Full stack developer

  • Experience with Java/JEE,

  • Experience with Spring Framework

  • TDD (RSpec, Junit) experience

  • Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS

  • Experience in building Microservices.

  • Experience in creating and integratingRESTful Web services.

  • Excellent oral and written communicationskills

  • Agile software development principles, practiceand process experience

  • Experience in use of GIT

  • Experience in use of build tools likemaven and gradle


  • Extensiveexperience in building enterprise software using Java and Spring Framework

  • Experiencewith agile software development methodologies, tools and processes.

  • Experiencein the financial services sector is highly desirable

  • Self-driven,acts with an extreme sense of urgency and passionate about delivering

  • Experience using version control andbuild tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Maven

  • Experience building using commondatabases

  • Experience building production-qualityAPIs

  • Strong written and verbal communicationskills, including with non-technical audiences

  • Experience in 24/7, highly regulatedenvironments, such as financial services or healthcare

  • Experience training or mentoring othersoftware engineers
