Junior SQL Server Database Administrator

This position is for a Junior SQL server Database Developer/Administrator with basic experience in administering oracle databases on Linux/Unix. The candidate should have a keen aptitude for learning database administration and technical abilities. Candidate should be able to communicate effectively with DBA team members and developers. Candidate will need to have basic understanding of monitoring, troubleshooting SQL SERVER replication and reporting issues and have database administration skills in production environments.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Maintain and Create month end Reports. (Management Studio/SSIS/SSRS + TSQL)
  • Install, configure, support transactional replication and ability to troubleshoot ans configure replication using SQL server management studio
  • Design/Build/Deploy data infrastructure elements and software
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix and basic oracle knowledge is highly desirable.
  • Provide basic database administration to Oracle RAC 11g/12cRxxx databases running on Solaris, Linux and Windows server.
  • Work with application developers to collect troubleshooting information and work towards resolving release issues and performance concerns.
  • Good interpersonal skills


Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated level of Hands-on experience writing SQL Server Stored Procedures and reporting tools.
  • Good working knowledge in SSIS and SSRS.
  • Ability to work on Linux/Unix environment is required.
  • Familiarity with transactional replication and ability to resolve and configure replication using SQL server management studio.
  • Hands on experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting
  • Basic oracle database administration knowledge like creating users/backup/troubleshoot existing production workflow independently.
  • Experience Installing, configuring, upgrading and applying patches to SQL server
  • Experience with Backup and Restore strategies both SQL server and creating RMAN backup and database duplication using RMAN
  • Ability to troubleshoot and setup and replication issues with SQL server.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, and time management skills
  • College degree in computer science or a related discipline, or an equivalent level of technical knowledge required
Pluses
  • 3+ years of SQL development experience with Good working knowledge in SSIS and SSRS.
  • 2-3 years of Oracle RDBMS production experience with 2 years of production support .
  • Should be willing and adaptable to learn, support and contribute to customizations and in house developed solutions without barriers.
  • Working experience with oracle RDBMS,dataguard,partitioning,encryption ,ASM is a plus.
  • 3+ years production experience with some programming languages TSQL/Perl/shell and PL/SQL programming experience.
