Quality Engineer- Java & C#
The successful candidate will work in planning and execution of the Disaster Recovery, Failover and Stay and migrating clients to our Projects for Global Fund Accounting. These projects have been identified as priorities for the ATA Transformation & Stability Team. This resource will work across technology and operation organizations to ensure that efficient methods and operational excellence have a standing ground, leveraging automation. The resource will be aligned and configured to the specifications required to support an Eagle Fund Accounting, Insurance and Middle Office Line of Business. Deliveries are currently set to follow a very tight schedule to meet the committed dates.
The candidate should develop testing plan scenarios for complex unit, process, function, integration and acceptance testing. S/he will be responsible for definition, planning and execution of testing efforts. Provides technical guidance to assigned project teams. May allocate/coordinate work within a team/project. Develops test cases, scenarios and scripts to ensure applications quality. S/he analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, and logical processes and interfaces with other systems. Designs and develops usability testing scenarios and administers more complex portions of the testing process. Defines criteria for testing, analyzes results of testing sessions and presents results to Quality Engineering leadership. Additional requirements include intermediate understanding of security principles, relational databases and architecture design principles. Programming well-designed, testable, efficient code. Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites. Develop flowcharts, layouts and documentation to satisfy requirements and solutions.
The candidate should analyzes complex systems requirements. Helps resolve complex problems detected in testing. Recommends new products and provide guidance and expertise in their development. Identifies and documents software and systems defects. Assists in providing solutions to resolve defects. Contributes to the achievement of related teams' objectives. Develop software verification plans and quality assurance procedures. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing systems. Ensure software is updated with latest features. Participate in deployment process following all change controls. Demonstrate team work. Leverage existing products/functionality and promote reuse. Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Collaborate closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to. Collaborate cross-functionally with data engineers, business users, project managers and other engineers to achieve elegant solutions. Utilize local meetups to gain and share knowledge. Compiles documentation written by more senior developers of all procedures used in system.

The Engineer will possess:
- 4+ Java & C# Development experience at a Financial Firm (preferred)
- Strong Analytical Skills, able to comprehend and dissect a problem
- Must have strong deductive reasoning & diagnostic problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, fast learner, willing to go outside of comfort zone and learn new things.
- Hands on Java & C# Technologist with Reference Data Background
- Ability to synthesize business, functional requirements and design solution
- Prior Experience in working across regions and cross functional teams
- Partner with QA/Ops/Client teams in supporting Dev/QA/UAT initiatives
- Experience with source control systems such as GIT
- Knowledge in various branching/merging methodologies and release procedures.
- Experience with continuous integration build engines, such as Jenkins, GITLab
- Experience with IT automation tools Selenium, Maven, TestNG, BDD and XML.
- Exposure to Agile development processes and tools such as Confluence, JIRA, and Kanban.
- Scripting experience (Python, Perl, Bash, batch, etc.) and familiarity with Windows, Linux (RHEL preferred) and Unix.
- Experience with databases both relational (Oracle, MSSQL) and non-relational (NoSQL, Mongo)
- Experience in release engineering, configuration management, software development or related discipline.
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is beneficial, 6-8 years of experience in a systems quality environment required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.Job holder must have understanding interdependencies and business impact of future IT plans. S/he must have prior lead experience selecting and implementing vendor-specific methodologies and prior consulting experience with structured methodologies. Extensive experience with developing and supporting desktop applications required. Job holder must have broad experience with multi-platform development tools and toolkits.
