We’re looking for a Data Dictionary Glossary Analyst to:
-act as the guardian of the Glossary within the Group Data Dictionary, challenging the quality of submissions and changes to Glossary content
-lead cross-divisional and functional discussions to facilitate common definitions and standards of Data, and chair Data Glossary forums and sub-forums
-define standards for good quality dictionary components and the implementation and monitoring of those standards
-lead / support initiatives to integrate other Data Dictionaries and work with Group CTO to develop a Group Wide Data Model to support usage of the Data Glossary across the enterprise
-represent the DMO as a subject matter expert in projects involving the definition of data across the enterprise, and partner with Technology teams such as Lingua IT (the Enterprise messaging standard)
You will be working in Group Operations within the Data Management Office (DMO). This role sits within the Data Lineage team, which operates out of Weehawken, London, Bangalore and Pune. The Data Lineage team is responsible for working directly with divisional subject matter experts, in both the business and IT, to map data flows in the organization and populate and maintain the group data dictionary. The DMO is responsible for embedding a data management culture into the organization by advocating for our strategy and proactively challenging the way the firm works with data. The DMO is made up of approximately 100 people, comprising UBS permanent staff, contractors and consultants.
-at least 5 years of experience in Financial Services, preferably within a business facing data function
-strong domain knowledge of financial services products and services across one or more business lines
-excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and oral
-an understanding of data dictionaries and or data models would be desirable but is not essential
-methodical, concise and accurate, with strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
-team player with a flexible and adaptable approach to work, and a motivated self-starter
